best for PS3 would be a FullHD LCD running at 1080p. afaik LCD is better for a PS3 than a plasma.... how much TV are you gonna watch?
And if you want the biggest, a Sinotec will get you a bigger set because it's much cheaper. 5 inches doesn't sound like much, but remember, it's vertical inches.
have a look instore and decide if you want a 47" Sinotec, or a 40/42" Samsung/sony.
I'd go for a nice 42" Sony Bravia though - they are pretty cheap these days - 42" is pretty big IMO - 47" is just a monster man XD

I have a 50" Sony Bravia, bought it about 2 years ago, it's awesome, but there's one problem - it's going to make 'upgrading' quite expensive 
You have to find a balance between size and quality. As far as the average entry level LCDs and Plasmas go, there's not too much of a difference. My advice is to spend a weekend going from store to store looking at the different ones on offer, decide on one or two that you really like and then go do some research on the internet on those specific models.
