Best game ever?

I have to go with all the games from ACCESS studios (before that scum microsoft bought them, and basically crushed them)

Games like the entire Text murphy series, amazon, countdown etc..
Then most of the games that contain FMV ( I just loved them), games like the beast within, phantasmagoria and black dahlia.

And recently I have to go with Tex Murphy
 
If we are sticking with console games, being that this is under the console page, then I would have to say, going old school, Super Mario Brothers on the old Nintendo (Cartridge version)
 
Mortal Combat on Sega 16bit. PS1 = Crash Bandicoot. PS2 = God of War. Nintendo 64 = Street soccer (or Super Mario 64). Then had a break and took on PC gaming. Now: Xbox 360 = Dead Rising (or Assassins Creed) [This is what I've got and fully experienced up until now] :p
 
Damn I can still remember when the first ever nintendo handheld consoles appeared in south africa, man it was these small little consoles with a button on the left and one of the right, it also had a watch and alarm to it. You got games like popeye and so on.

My first was octopus. Think it was somewhere in 81, 82. I bought it at a place called nb wholesalers (in potchefstroom), the place is still there. It cost R30 back then, saved all my money and on my birthday my parents paid the rest of the R30 (R29,95). Man, I played that thing till my fingers cramped.

Then about 2 years later they evolved into the dual screen games, which flipped open. Played donkey kong for hours and hours as well as mario bros
 
best game ever? I wanna be the guy, its a game, and its brilliant beyond anything, ever, forever.
 
I cant answer this question :( i have alot of games that i would consider 'the best game ever...

Nintendo Game & Watch. :) Wish I kept all mine, they're all collector's items now.
 
Not console, but Civilization II would get my vote for best game.

That was a brilliant series... Pity that the dev team disbanded.
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 Where you turned into mist and stealth killed your victims was simply awesome. :D
