Best game ever?

Starcraft...no other game that is as old is still playable and fun.
Single player FPS Half Life 1
Multiplayer FPS Quake 3
RPG Baldur's Gate 2/Diablo 2(if you can call it an RPG)
Sandbox game GTA 1

there was a game i played on my nintendo knock off :D with a light gun called "To The Earth" the game was decent but i just loved the in game theme music...anyone know this one??
 
Serious sam and daly thompsons decathlon for the atari and jet set willy for the amstrad.
 
Best ever? Probably Ocarina of Time. The game that sold me an N64 and kept me in my room for three days straight.

+1 for The Legacy of Kain.

Add to that Resident Evil 2 [PS2]. 2 Disks, 2 different characters, with a whole lot of endings and weapons. Still remember throwing the controller out of my hand when, playing the first time, the Licker jumps through the glass in the Interrogation rooms.:rolleyes:

Overall best game ever: Fallout
