Best Gaming mouse

It's a toss-up between Logitech and Razer

Although A4 tech has some sweeeeeeeeeeet mice :)

My G5 logitech bailed on me so I got one of those A4`s with the triple shot button for around R200. I was so impressed with it for its price. It was quick and and the triple shot feature .... well I am not sure how legal that is in some online games. I researched that it was made in the Ukraine... and it felt very "solid" with this kinda cold war gun metal thing happening to it. I was very impressed with it until it stopped working. Using a razor now... and it gliiiiiiiiiiides.

I was just having a look at one. The A4Tech X-750F. Looks like a good buy but Take2 doesn't have it :(

but rather look at the OCZ equilizer if you are wanting a decent mouse in that price bracket.

Yikes that's as expensive as the mouse

EDIT: Oh the OCZ equilizer and the A4tech X-750F are supposedly one and the same. Take2 has neither

EDIT AGAIN: Where the hell can you purchase a X-750F?

I moved from a MX510 to a MX1000 to a Razer DeathAdder. I've also played around with the Lachesis, which reminds me of a cross between a Boomslang and a Copperhead. Can't say i enjoyed the symmetrical shape too much, which is the primary reason i've been attracted to Logitech mice as opposed to Razer's Diamondback and Copperhead offerings.

All are solid mice in their own regard, so it all comes down to personal flavour. For now i'm happy and sticking with the DeathAdder, very cool mouse.

Razer also offers two other mousepads that are cheaper than the ExactMat. These come in "Speed" and "Control" flavours. Links below:

I am using the Razer Mantis Control Mat and I am very happy with it. I am using an old MS Optical mouse and I have noticed an increase in "control" over my old mouse pad - previously had an extreme mouse pad.

I am also looking to get a new mouse and I am leaning towards the Habu as that is the 1 I have actually "hands on" (/pun ftw) tried.

what about that one that you hold in the air and point like the wii remote, but its sexier looking?

I looked and I cant find an X-750F either, I see some guys asking about it and some reviews, but no one selling it.

I used to have a logitech mx1000, and hated the wireless mouse, so got me the genius lazer 525 with mat. And am very happy with it, especially the 2000 dpi setting.

But my best investment was one of those ideozon zboard keyboards

Whats the deal with those zboards? I havnt actually seen one so I cant comment on functionality etc, but a keyboard is a keyboard innit?

Well you basically buy yourself a keyboard base.

That is the base, with a standard set of lift out keys (qwerty keyboard), then you also get a gaming keyset with it.

So when you are working like normal, posting on myadsl. You use the standard keyboard. When you want to play a game, you all the keys up (the base stays behind), and inserts the gaming keyboard keys.

This gaming one is already organised for FPS and so, and you can download the preprogrammed keysets from their website.

So if you are playing Witcher, it immediately binds the correct keys and so on

Very nice, and if you have tons of money, the you can buy ever quest key sets and world of war keysets and so

So then is it a lazy way to customise keys? WASD is pretty much all I need :D

Well, it's nice to have the keys laid out for you all nicely spaced. But I'm with you. WASD is all I need.

What I can't do without tho is backlit keys. By far the best thing for a keyboard........ ever.

As for my mouse I'm using a G5 version1. I have no complaints other than Setpoint not detecting some games correctly. I am thinking about getting the G5 version2 since it's got an extra button on the side but then I might as well get the G9. Will see when I get cash again.

Overall, if you're a lefty then choose anything Razor, don't even bother with Logitech. Otherwise choose the one you like the most.

Does the keyboard have backlit keys? I have been looking for something with those for a while now. just to make gaming easier in the dark.

I wanted a logitech because of the awesome feel of them, but getting a G5 was a hassle cos no one had stock, so I have ordered the Razer death adder. Im hoping it doesnt suck!

Oh and nice sig, hehe. System rock!

Well yes, if you always use WASD. But I on the other hand, usually use ESDF as I like to use my A key for something like crawling, meaning with every game, i have to reconfigure keys.

Not with this keyboard, all the keys are perfectly spaced, and has a tag on them indicating what they usually to for instance, the R key, sits seperate but easy to reach, and the key shows R and beneath it Reload

Used the Razer Copperhead till I wore it out with all the clicking... think it's lifespan was 5 million clicks or some such. Kept on disconnecting and according to Razer, that's just how it is when it's fragged.

Now using A4 Tech X7, pretty good as well and very cheap in relation to similar DPI mice.
Love the Logitech's too, they make decent mice, but mostly use their Notebook mice only.

Have started to check out the Lachesis, since I need a replacement for my Copperhead. RIP

I bought my MX1000 2nd hand for R350 and I'm loving it. Not the perfect gaming mouse, but it's sweer as an all rounder.
