Best Graphics card out

well the reason why I can afford to be "over budget" is because my friend is coming back from Taiwan and he offered to bring back a 6870 and a SSD :P

I haven't managed to reach 900MHz core yet, since the Vcore is limited to 1.025V
BUT I have managed to run 3D Mark Vantage at 878/1756/2230 @ 1.025V -> P28469 / GPU 30379 / CPU 23951

I reckon I'll have to mod the BIOS to be able to increase the voltage to allow me to pass 878MHz core.
 
Taking a look at your monitor, I see it's one of the normal LCD's in that it only has a 60HZ refresh rate. In other words, your monitor can never display more than 60 frames a second, anything else will just cause visual tearing. Unless you are intending to play the fastest FPS games out there that needs all those extra frames, would it not be worth it to invest in a single more powerful card, rather than go the SLI or Crossfire route?

Just a random thought :)

I'm having that problem with Mafia 2. The fps are capped at 60fps but nosedive to high 20s wherever there is lots of grass. Without vsync fps are mid to high 70s so it takes the sting out of the fps dip when I happen to drive past large patches of grass :erm:

How many extra fps would a pair of 460 cyclones give over a stock pair of 460s? Is it really worth an extra R800?

Come okes i need a 6850 or 70 this week sometime what supplier has them, most online stores got no stock
 
I am not really satisfied with my current monitor and will carry on looking. I might change to a single GPU when the 6970 comes out, im just waiting to see its specs.

Btw, for gaming do you think I need a screen with 2ms response time, or don't you really notice the difference between 2ms and 5ms.

Eish COD is out soon and i need a card to play, maybe i should just grab it from amazon or something, might be faster.

No idea but people are getting kindles so i would be keen on giving it a bash.

I can also use myus but they are a bit expensive so not much point, it may end up costing more to import it.

O well i ordered from rampage gaming with a power supply, sure hope it launches ontime. 2.6k for a saphire is decent i reckon.

5ms is fine. You eyes only work at around 25-30hz anyway, thats why 60 fps (double what your eyes can actually see) is regarded as smooth gameplay. So at 60fps a frame is on the screen for 16ms, which is is 3 times more than the 5ms it takes for the pixels to change.
 
k thanks, think I will go for a 5ms screen then cuz it is lank hard to find a decently priced 2ms 20+ inch LED screen.
