Thanks for this and confusing me more:unsure::unsure::unsure:
I know sorry, though from the video, it might be better to get a decent stereo headset and rather get Dolby Atmos extension in Windows App store?

I'm getting the Arctis 7 headset (still, funding... funding...)

Linus over-explains it. You only have 2 ears.

Like the original good Kingston X headphones which were based on the Takstar Pro 80/82, so is the Coolermasters. Some headsets/phones discussed in the Canucks video aren't readily available here.

As others have said, don't get 7.1.
2 great drivers will beat 9 crappy ones every time.

Depending on how noisy your environment is, get open back headphones, they give you a better idea of the soundstage.
The GSP 500 and 600 from Sennheiser are the open and closed back variants of the same headset. I have the 500s and they are great, although my motherboard doesn't drive them so well. I never really needed more than 100% from it, but at times I would have liked to go a bit loader, so I got an external soundcard/dac.

The GSP 300s are louder and pretty good. They are my closed back set for when the dogs are noisy.
300 (about R1100 at Loot atm) -
500 -
600 -

I got the GSX 1200 dac, but use it without the 3D effect. It makes it sound better, but slightly harder to distinguish direction.

I bought the Sennheiser GSP 500 when loot had it on sale for R1899 a few months ago, excellent gaming headset. (Also had to upgrade my soundcard to fully appreciate it)

It's not a 7.1 but it's 3D sound is better than any 7.1 I ever had
Had plenty of the other gaming headsets over the years, they are all crap once compared to a descent pair
