Mix of WIOCC and Liquid on the transit.
Just looking at the IPs, first time I've seen the liquid IPs this evening on the transit when I went to make sure there wasn't any change to Seacom.

The liquid very interesting, not sure how it now fits in, if any one go any info?
Here is an example of the liquid path.


EDIT: I suppose the Liquid could be the liquid seacom route, but interesting that there is both that and the WIOCC routes.

Yup I can confirm that’s what I’m picking up my side.

On a side note interesting the Cisp has a large amount of CloudFlare on their ASN wonder if that’s the Warp+ users

Then it must be the transit adding the additional latency, possibly using an East Coast cable for that path.

This is the difficulty with multiple transit providers.

Yea i do remember it being Seacom as well, they went through a stage where they got quite a bad name for shaping in the evenings and quite a lot of complaints about if people used VPN's they would get their full speed etc. I had a friend if i recall who was with them and i still checked things out
 
That must have been quite awhile ago, they’ve been WIOCC since I first started interacting with them in 2017?

It's tough to blame Seacom. They run a pretty decent outfit, and it helps they have direct access to a cable and since buying fibrebo national dark routes. Not saying anyone is perfect. Constraints happens.

Yea agreed the external IT company we work with are partners with them so they signed our JHB warehouse up with them and its been a near perfect experience, not to mention Warp uses quite a bit of Seacom in CT and from my experience its smooth as butter. I think HC just had possible capacity issues a few years ago

I've also found seacom to be very solid, I have VPSs with Absolute Hosting who uses them and I havent had any issues with it. I have some international smokeping graphs setup and they are all flat, with constant latency.

Not to say they haven't had issues in the past, but they've come a long way. They're also an older establishment now with a lot of depth.

We are rated as the highest throughput per test from Ookla for about 4 years in a row within africa.

Cogent is gone. Too unreliable with limited backup links because the big CDNs like Cloudflare eat up all the backup traffic in the event of a failure. There is no real value anymore as the USD/ZAR exchange rate has killed the lower rate. Liquid Equiano is a better addon now.

We saw the same thing with HE when we used them for Transit. Multiple cable systems but not enough capacity when there is a failure.

Vox have also gone the Liquid Equiano route it seems last week apparently they made a network change, had a friend asking me why his CT latency is so bad all of a sudden and all his EU traffic is now going..

CT -> JHB -> Zimbabwe -> UK

I only got him to do like 4 or 5 tests and all went this route which was netting him 160-165 to the UK from CT
