Hi I'm looking to maybe get a new laptop was wondering what's the best I'm gna get for R10000. I'm looking for something for general use(including some light gaming) thats got a decent battery and isnt too heavy. Any ideas?

You can look at nabbing an ASUS X550JK if you stretch that budget just a little bit. The major selling points here are the GTX 850M and the IPS 1080p display, a rare combination for a notebook that costs less than R11k.

I just bought a Lenovo A10 (FX7500) with a 1080p screen at game for R7999. Its not a pure gaming machine but i can play diablo 3 on 1080p full detail reasonably well.

More demanding games will probably have to go to a lower resolution.

Game doesn't list the FX anymore but they got a A10 -7300 for R7500

That Z5070 really isn't worth the money. It has a dual-core hyper-threaded processor and a GT 820M, a chip that's about six times as slow as the GTX 850M in terms of compute power and about four times as slow in terms of memory bandwidth.

Its the same deal for the MSI CX61. In fact, the HD4600 graphics on the Core i5-4200M would in all likelihood be faster than the GT 820M that MSi crammed in there.

Looks promising. Are there any downsides that might make me reconsider?

Well, only a few points, really:

1) Its not free
2) No backlighting for the keyboard (you have to spend a bit more and go for something like the Lenovo Y5070 if you want that kind of thing)
3) Its not super-light, although it only weighs about 600g more than a MSI Stealth GS70.
4) All the ports are on the left-hand-side of the notebook. If you're a lefty, I'm sure you will hate this
5) Does not have a mSATA port (not important all things considered, but its a nice-to-have type of thing)

Otherwise, I don't see much of a downside considering that you're getting good hardware that will run most games at native resolution on high-to-medium settings,
