Best Linux Distro to start with

OK, Ubuntu installed without any problems however when I reboot my PC to select Ubuntu or Win XP from the menu my keyboard don't respond seems there is no power because normally I have NumLock on when it starts
Keyboard is USB.....should I try a PS/2 keyboard?
Any ideas to overcome this problem would be appreciated.

You can use a plugin for firefox as a download manager, it's called DownloadThemAll, which you can launch from the Tools menu, and includes a manager and some other download tools. You can check it out here.

Thanks! D/L avg just over 2.5Mbps with DownThemAll (AH slow as hell)
