Best LTE deal?

@mJoubert the problem with the Huawei B593 is it will auto assign DNS Servers, with the Huawei B315 you can manually use Google DNS but Vodacom 4U Shops still offer 60 + 40 GB Data Daytime is 50 Gigs 30 + 20 with vodacom they give you a Vodafone R216 MiFi Router, you can pickup a Huawei B315 on Gumtree. guy was selling his Router "he was using it until he got fibre" i got it from him for R500 + Postnet packaging. there is skywire wireless but if you dont want LTE theres only skywire.

Skywire does not use Mikrotik or Ubiquiti They use something Far More reliable.

Yes, it's only midnight data. If it was during the peak / business hours the entire network would slow to a crawl as everyone would cash in on it. It works brilliantly though, if you're limited to 12mb ADSL like me and have a HUGE Steam download (50GB+), then I simply fire up my B315 and let it rip through it. I see it as my "night-time fibre" connection :D

Dude... I think you just sold me in it! So it's sim only, no subscription except the R50 per month?

Yeah, sim only, no subscription. Via the Telkom app you even have the option so that your account gets debited the R50 each month if you choose to do so. I normally just buy whenever I need it.

I bought a pre-paid sim at CNA and had it rica'd at the same time. Afterward, you need to put it in your phone and simply dial *180# (took me a few tries but eventually it worked). If I recall correctly, you need to pick option 5 then and just follow the prompts to convert your pre-paid plan to a smartbroadband pre-paid wireless plan. After that you, via the Telkom app you can then load the said R50 for 500GB bundle :)

I have a zte router, can't remember exactly which, I got through cell c almost 2 years back. Would I need a new router for telkom? I'm considering getting the Afrihost deal with the B315 too.

I believe the ZTE router should work, as long as it supports the 1800Mhz and 2300Mhz bands on which Telkom's network operates (correct me if I'm wrong, someone?)
