best program to design website

Best app for designing mockups is Photoshop.
Best app for actually making websites is Brackets imo.

Depends on what you mean by the 'loosly' used word 'design'.
Tons of designers use Photoshop, some use indesign, some use fireworks.

Any of those will be sufficient to Design a website.

If you're looking for a drag&drop template style design then check out wordpress and a premuim template, the free ones are rubbish.

Also check out squarespace.

You must enjoy typing a lot. Specifically hitting < and >.

I like Atom. Good value for money.

+1 for WordPress from an ex notepad(ish) guy. For most business and e-commerce sites there's really no need to diy.

Do you just want a website to advertise your business and create an online presence? The easiest way is to install WordPress and then purchase a premium theme. I have used and customised themes from ThemeForest. They are all very high quality and come with demo's that you can test before the time.

Using Wordpress is definitely the best way to go. Easy to use, very resourceful. Although I don't do the design for our company, I've managed to easily learn a few things. Use the Divi theme

The most important thing about websites is the SEO. Even if you create it in a simple site builder like Wix or Weebly, make sure you do your SEO otherwise it won't be found on Google

Wordpress is a CMS framework to manage content and print it out to the front end using a theme to make it look nice.

On Wordpress, you can either install a ready built theme or develop your own theme from scratch.

A program that you can use to code your theme is Sublime Text 3. There are many others out there like Notepad++ and Atom. Atom is quite new and a bit buggy still.

You can use Photoshop to design a theme before you build it. A free option would be GIMP.
