Best Robot Vacuum

That's why I am hesitant to get one. I can buy my domestic a proper Karcher vacuum for R7k that would last a lifetime. And she comes in 3 times a week and mops and vacuums the floors, 3 times a week. So why would I need a robovac?

The idea is cool and the tech I guess.

But can your Karcher do this lol.... (always hopeful that the anti-drop would work)
I wanted to spend the money to get value for my buck instead of buying a cheapie. BUT I'm really frustrated with this thing...

I will have to double-check my domestic's Karcher skills.

It got stuck on the wall?

Bought the NannyVac J01 month ago. It's frustratingly not up to expectations for a R7k model. The drop sensor does not work even with a fake wall on app. After mapping it cleans in zigzag as if there's an item restricting it. It occasionally searches for the charging station. Below picture shows a half lounge and dining cleaned on a full charge as it get stuck cleaning in circles. Ps.. I have level floor tiles only and very very little furniture - performance should have been better. The suction power is great though.

Should have spent your 7k on a known brand like Xiaomi instead of something nobody has ever heard of.

So you ended up buying a cheapie for much more money than it deserves selling for instead of just going for a known name brand.

Does not compute.

I bought one. Regret getting it...it does not clean systematically but moves around in circles.... example pic... 23 min half a lounge.. then I see the thing moving in circles... get frustrated and put it off.
Cheap china kuk resold by south african company

Once bought a "bennett read" product.
image_big_80904156.jpg

TL;DR garbage.

Longer story:
They specifically chose a name that "sounds" like you've heard it before, like this
Their vacuums are made of the cheapest possible everything so they can save money.
The motor is really cheap, so it is very loud and doesn't have much suction power comparatively for the noise level.
The plastic on above-mentioned vacuum broke all over, you look at it wrong and something broke.

Not a fair comparison per-se but compared to the Miele C3 I bought after, it is easy to see the difference.
The Miele on it's lowest setting had more suction power.
On it's highest setting it was MUCH quieter and the suction power is insane.
Lastly the Miele takes abuse.
I treated that Bennett Read vacuum like a queen (was my first vacuum).
The Miele I drag around by the hose, ramp it over it's power wire at speed, etc. (obviously not initially but it has been many years now)
Not a single broken anything on it yet.

Recently even scored a Miele C3 2kW for R1k on 2nd hand sale (for my parents).
What a deal, what a vacuum.

(Yes I've just geeked out on vacuum cleaner)

100% on all the above.

Karcher man myself, but the Miele is definitely prettier and well lauded all round if you can find them.

It’s also a German brand and it Italian like many seem to think and often why people avoid it.

Long ago, I had bought 2 of these and after a year, they only seemed to last for 15-20 minute on full charge. It was annoying that it got tangled at some places (esp. wires) so I stopped using them.

Might give it a try now that our son doesn't scatter toys all over the house. Just need to find charging cables now.

I mean, these are complete garbage. You get what you pay for. Unless you buy a NannyVac, then you are paying multiple times over for garbage.

I agree but this was many years ago and it was kind of first in TAL market so thought to give it a try. Considering stuff in our house, I don't think NannyVac will work either. LOL.

I have 2 Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners.... sadly my dogs and cats sheds so much hair rendering these robot vacuums useless at my primary residence. We moved them to our beach house and use them when we go there for the weekend.
They work ok but nothing beats a Genesis ultra vacuum machine

Honestly I have not experienced that at all. My one has never gone around in circles as seen in your picture.

Only gripe is it somehow starting and stopping for no apparent reason. Says "remote control activated" which I can only assume is an app command.

We have one 4 days of the week but it's Fridays , Saturdays and Sundays that's the problem. House needs sweeping twice daily.

Thank you. Thats good to know. I gave up on it but I will try a re-set, re-map and hope for the best.

Would like to get one but worried the Jack Russells will attack it or bark their head off.
