There must be a thousand of these requests on here, but somehow I can't find them. They should actually just take the internet away from me cause I don't know how to use it sometimes.

I am in Gauteng (JHB or Pretoria is fine). Where is the best shop to buy a custom PC? ...nothing hectic... around 6-8k Home office type use.

Best for:

-Service
-Price
-Guarantee Honoring
-Won't just disappear over night

Any advice?

Thanks!

HAHAHA. Thanks guys, but I should have been clear on this. They must assemble it, if I try it myself it will probably end up costing me double and turn into a two year project

Checking out Wootwear now, not looking bad at

Wootware has always been good to me, in terms of price and service.

This doesn't look bad... but I can't assemble. I also don't know if I have any real need for the SSD. I am moving everything of importance into the cloud. My pc was recently stolen and they stole so much of my data!! I have backups, but I don't want my data to be on my pc again and land up in someone else's hands.

You can ask Rebel Tech to assemble it for you.

Its really not that difficult. If you don't know what you're doing it might take a saturday though. To be honest it also takes me pretty long because I do these types of things with a decent dose of fake OCD.

Well worth it though...pre-built boxes are generally pretty crap. They pack a bunch of crap in it and add one fantastic component...and then prominently advertise it based on the one component. Specifically the powersupply...its usually some noname crap that blows up and takes your entire PC with it. You're much better off with a build like NomNom's - I don't see a screen & OS in that build though.

Aaahh... Some people will never know the joy of wiring your PC up exactly how you want it.

If you want a walk in shop, computers only in Midrand I found to be pretty good. Built my last rig to my specs and still happy.

I see Rebel Tech being mentioned quite often.

Placed my first order with them last week Tuesday after confirming stock (they said 24 hours to get it from supplier). Its now day 8 and the product has not been delivered. Several other things went wrong as well, like payment verification, empty promises etc.
They say first impressions last; they certainly do!
