Who’s king of the roost in smaller sizes? JBL Charge? LG? Sony?

JBL charge. Enough oomph to annoy the neighbour’s during load schedding. If that your thing.

I tried a few different ones and settled on JBL. I have a Flip, Charge and a Boombox now.

I have a pair of Sony SRS-XB12's. A few friends have JBL GO 2's and Clip 3/Clip 4's. The Sony has better battery life and sounds better to me. The JBL's tend to distort at higher volume levels.

Seems JBL is the way to go. Have got experience with the Charge 3 and see the Charge 5 is quite a bit more powerful. But am wondering if there's anything better sound quality-wise? Don't mind spending more on something upper-mid range.

Ultimate Ears?

I tested the Sony SRS-XB43 today. Not bad. Like that one can change the EQ in the app.

Too big and heavy though. I think I’m looking for the smallest stereo Bluetooth speaker…

It like OP is hoping for a different result. Consensus is JBL. You welcome.:)
I’m impressed with the Charge. But the cheapest JBL with stereo sound is the Xtreme 2/3. And they’re big and less portable, where I already have good sound at home. And they’re not all that highly rated by pros. I have no doubt that they rightfully dominate the mid-tier of the market. I’m considering going Sonos, but would like to test to see if it’s worth it over JBL. I’m looking for something small, with stereo, and hopefully a customisable EQ.

I love my Bose.
