Best Smaller Bluetooth Speaker

I’m impressed with the Charge. But the cheapest JBL with stereo sound is the Xtreme 2/3. And they’re big and less portable, where I already have good sound at home. And they’re not all that highly rated by pros. I have no doubt that they rightfully dominate the mid-tier of the market. I’m considering going Sonos, but would like to test to see if it’s worth it over JBL. I’m looking for something small, with stereo, and hopefully a customisable EQ.
Why stereo on a single unit? If one takes two speakers that works in stereo and place them in the same spot, can you still hear the stereo sound?

IMO take 2x Flips if you want stereo.

Just for better sound quality/sound stage, etc.

Anyway, when watching a JBL Flip 6 vs Charge 5 comparison on YouTube, I found out that the Charge 5 now supports customisable EQ via the app, which sold it for me. Have ordered a black one at R2,999. I think I would have been happy with the Flip 6, but the bigger battery and better sound quality & oomph of the Charge 5 sealed the deal.

I'll take good care of it and if I start using it more than predicted, upgrade to the Sonos Move.

I have Ultimate Ears (Logitech) has some great speakers otherwise Sonos

I like the MEGABOOM 3 (and Logitech), it's just a bit dated. I'm sure the MEGABOOM 4 will be better than the Charge 5.

Yeah I mentioned that one earlier. I almost want to buy one just to see how much bang for buck it really is (I already have 2x JBLs though) xD.

Do you have one?

Nope. Heard one do it's thing at a food truck.

Harmon Kardon bought JBL a long time ago. I quite like their stuff. JBL seem to be focused more towards louder party style and the HK stuff more towards sound quality but not quite as loud. Infinity is another of their brands.

Still looking for one. Anyone got the Flip Essential - worth it?

I bought a Sony XB-21 a while back which I was really impressed with. Doesn't look like you can get that specific model anymore (as it's be replaced), the XB-23 seems to be the replacement that is currently available.

Check the reviews on the Anker Soundcore Flare 2. It’s on par with the JBL flip (some would say slightly better). Currently on special at istore.

I bought two of these, R599 at Incredible Connection - use them outside playing from Google Home inside.

R499 here (don't know who they are):

I bought 2 XB-23's at a discount (+- R1100 each). They pair well and has stereo output. (you can pair more if you like)
Bloody good sound and they last 12 hours.

I got an old JBL charge 3 it is still working like new, never had a problem sounds good.

Fixed that for you
Girls say I am pretty fly for a white guy, but if I want to fck with the pple next door I am not going to use a tiny portable speaker... I got something a tiny bit bigger then that but I don't like to brag. ;)
