Best Unshaped ISP for WOW

I am currently on Imaginet 2G but paying R238 per month which seems a bit steep or is it? Which would be the best to move over to that is cheaper if there is another ISP?
 
if u willing to pay.. tbh iburst is great. esp since they give u a static ip for the wow players
 
I enjoy using Axxess. The thing is for the best & most stable latency in Wow you need to be on SAIX based Unshaped. (not IS)

BUT I also make use of a service called lowerping.com to bring my latency down even more.

Currently with

Axxess Unshaped (saix based) + lowerping = +- 230-280ms stable
Afrihost (Semi-shaped IS based) + lowerping= +- 300ms - actually quite stable, just the odd spike and latecy somethimes goes up a little if allot is going on. Been very 25 man raidable sofar. Hope it lasts
 
I'm with Axxess and I pay R99 per gig for unshaped. Last night I had 249ms in WoW while raiding :)

I don't use Lowerping though...just Unshaped :)

Mine is around 380-450 ms so thats very wierd but then could be beacause of the server I am on Stormrage. I have axxess semi shaped but dont know how gd that really is last time I tried it was pathetic

Axxess is da bomb for sure.

Latency in WOW is a consistent 300 and thereabouts and there service is top class to and their rates good too
 
Interesting Method, I have not tested unshaped without lowerping in a while. Last I tested it was always 380-450 on its own.

Currently I just use Afrihost (R29 per gb) + lowerping to play @ a 300ms latency.

I had a 2 month break from wow thou and are NOT raiding seriously anymore (just VOA25, Ony25, TOC etc) but as you know quite allot happens in those fights also and its been pretty stable with tha combo. And its cheaper...

Unshaped 3GB = +- R300
Afrihost 3GB + lowerping = R155

Imo an option worth testing.
 
i got semi shaped imaginet account and get 200ms to 300ms most of the time even during the day for only R199 for 3 gb

also depends on area in wow

So how come u getting a better latency on a semi shaped account on Imaginet but I am getting between 380 -450 on an unshaped imaginet account doesnt make sense
 
well reason is cause they dedicated a line and port for my gaming for just myself :)

go to auberdine darkshore and see if you get low ping? also what line you on i'm on 4 meg your ms looks like 384k or 512k dsl

Meren I have a unshaped account with a 4mbps line and its running like that of a shaped account how is that possible
 
for some reason telkom downgraded me to 1 meg line without my permission but still getting same low ping starts on 239

lol even though my line has major interference problems its hovering atm at 300 - 400ms

it seems to change to 200 - 300ms to that then down again :)

interested to know which areas you go in

I had problems with my 4mbps line and they wanted to do the same and I said no and now have no problems anymore. Hows yours in Dalaran?

ok in dalaran between 300 ms and 500
100ms more than other places probably due to population and my laptop

might go test it on my good pc

also they made my line download like a 384k now :(
