and anyway my dsl line is worse after being downgraded to 1 mbit than 4 mbit

spikes way more than usual

My latency with cybersmart is between 280ms and 350ms. Haven't tried lowerping though. Will check it out.

i wish i had those latencies i read about.

Provider is MWeb, got unshaped 4mb, however, that was recently downgraded to 1mb because i am app. 5 km's away from the exchange. It did not make a difference...

i get at its best 500ms latency ingame....currently i got again problems, tonight had to leave my raid grp because of latencies above 1000ms and dc's.

considering to buy a new router (MWeb's is network locked), and trying other options. first will be axxess prepaid...does anyone think that this could help me?

Ok, just so we clear, latency when you standing still or doing HC's or something like that DOES Not count.

Latency when you are doing 25 man raiding is what matters. I can just on a 9600 modem and go stand in Darkshore with a 200 ping. That does not mean I can raid 25 man.

Telkom & semi-shaped accts usually go nuts and spike, jump to 900ms etc when cast & you do things like Raid Ulduar 25/TOC 25 with them.

For me the only way to get a constant 280+-ms latecy no matter what I do is Unshaped Saix + lowerping. BUt these days Semi-shaped IS + lowerping seems to be doig almost, almost just as good a job.

I think I've said it before, but I use Axxess, my normal ltency when soloing is now about 250-280ms and when raiding with teamspeak about 410-450ms.

I was doing TOC 10 man last night jumped between 580-750ms which on an unshped 4mbps account is very strange unless there were problems with the overseas cable

It's only been like this for the last week. Usually I get around 290ms to 320ms.

I think it has something to do with the SAT3 upgrade...

whatever the problem is...it is a fact that there is always something wrong, and nobody has a good explaination for it. Its ok to try out everything that is possible for the end user, but is that really necessary to find yourself the solutions to the ongoing problems? Are there not enough highly paid people in the IT business to find solutions and answers?

I have had ADSL for 2.5 years now, and there was not once a period of more than 2 months that it was enjoyable and trouble free.

true been on 384k or 4 meg or 1 meg dsl or 2 meg dsl and have had problems non stop trying to get fixed. over 100 fault reports and still isnt fixed.

They keep saying fault has been fixed and it isnt lol not sure what to do carry on trying?
