Best VoIP service?

Im happy with freshphone r200 last us 6 months
Why do i need to pay monthly fee .

Not my problem if the one calling me need to pay more , most of it is in any case spam calls.
That was an attraction - also with Havex and Abacus

I’m actually still interested to know what other issues he had with other SP’s other than the obvious banging on about the higher call rates to voip numbers. I have seen a few comments about FreshPHONE’s support but what have vox and those others done to this man to make him hate every other provider other than telkom and switch tel. Not sure how switch tel are magically cheaper to call than anyone else. Unless they have an agreement with telkom or the calls are terminating with telkom. Not really sure haven’t looked into switch tel at all.

I use talk360, it uses my own cell number for calls
It cost R0,39 per minute for mobile and 0,29 per minute for landline, also a R0,10 fee is applied on all calls
If you use it please join with my invitation code, we both would get R30 free call credit

And you don’t have issues with calling your mobile network with a spoofed cli? I know Vodacom sometimes blocks calls on it’s network if it detects a spoofed cli.

I don't think the cli is spoofed to make calls I'll have to dial on the app itself to make calls

You said that you are using your own mobile number? Do you mean that calls from the app display your mobile number? If so it’s spoofed

Yes, it uses my own number but I never had a problem where my calls where blocked
It works as a standalone app, I can make calls from mtn using there service or voip via talk360

Talk360 users can call any mobile or landline in the world because unlike other apps, the person you are calling doesn't need the app installed or to be online! As you're calling from your registered number, the receiver won't even notice that you are calling with an app.

It's actually a little popular app in South Africa, I know pep sells these vouchers

please by “my own number” do you mean your MTN number? If you called my number is your MTN number the caller ID that will show on my phone?

I downloaded the app to try it but never gone activation code. could it be because I didn’t allow tracking?

That is caller Id spoofing and I know icasa doesn’t like it. I’ve had issues with my cli over Vodacom because I am calling another Vodacom number and Vodacom sees a Vodacom cli but the call not originating on their network and blocks it. Similarly with international caller id’s calling local numbers, some SP’s are billing being billed at international rates by telkom for these calls if you use telkom routes. It’s a complicated situation. I do feel as long as you can a) prove you own a number and b) use the correct p-asserted id when passing the call on (the true caller id for tracing purposes) then spoofing a caller id shouldn’t be such as issue. The problem is it’s a bit of a moral thing too, if you can spoof a cli, what’s to say someone can’t spoof the cli of say the FNB CC fraud dept and call a little old lady and ask for her CVV, nothing is stopping it and it’s happening daily. This is why some providers block this functionality too. It’s a bit of a grey area

That is caller Id spoofing
No its not spoofing...spoofing suggests ill intent.

Your number is verified with an OTP sms. The person you calling can call you back on the number showing. The same way say domain.com can use third party smtp for email after domain verification. Nobody is calling that domain spoofing.

The vouchers are sold by BLU, Kazang and Flash.

Come on now, you're being dramatic here...

Are you saying a little old lady will recognize some number as that of FNB CC fraud dept? Are you serious?
And giving anyone your CVV over the phone is utter stupidity and nothing to do with spoofing.

You realise there’s something called Truecaller? They may not have that number saved on their phone. Fine Ill rather say cli masking than spoofing but you don’t realise how often this happens. I have had subpoena’s for CDR’s before relating to court cases where people have “masked” their cli and pretended to be FNB, just because you are tech savvy enough to use MYBB doesn’t mean everyone else is.
