Besty SP for local news servers?

Hi guys....I'm looking for the best SP for local news servers.
I used mweb but their news server is falling apart????

I tried the 4 days Imaginet trial(went for 10 days lol) and it was awesome.
IS news server is flying but I'm reading that I need to stay away from them?

What would be the best SP for local news servers? IS is good but I hear SAIX is also good?

I've been using the IS news server for ages. It's actually pretty decent at the moment, can't complain about it.

WHo is your SP? I don't want anyone that throttles etc....I don't mind shaping but they mustn't shape port 119...

and I told this to Mweb too....just get a good news server....then ALL or 95% of my traffic will be local????
Saves them a lot of cash? go figure...

Openweb Gold Uncapped FTW - using that with no issues at all.

Does openweb have a news server? Is the Web Africa one still working. I habeas been using Giganews but if local is lekker - why not...

Why do people say stay away from IS news server? I'm not on an IS isp, but there are rumours about monitoring on that server, or was this just people trying to keep the traffic on it low for themselves?
 
There is no monitoring on the IS News server. After all, what news articles you download is your business :)

The IS news server wasn't always as good as it is now, so when people say stay away, they are uninformed and base that advice on old information. Nowadays the IS news server is great, if not the best local news server, and it includes 20 concurrent connections, but the best of all...it can do linespeed on uncached items nowadays.

I must say that i am one of those who only knows of the old info (didn't post letting others know) and very pleased to hear of these new changes :D. Thanks Tinuva for the info. This is GOLD info people so take notice. ;-)

It certainly is. It is a big plus point for many people when selecting an ISP
 
so local new server are fee?,like the one that IS have?
and i can download from there,but what downloader do i use

i never used a news server in my life
so some tips may be nice
 
i did use it
but didnt find that link,thats how i found this page by search
