Hi All

Does any one know of a better error logging tool than event viewer?

eehhh?

The Event Logger is a built in component of the Windows Operating System, you can't just replace it everything will break.

You can however get a utility to replace the "Viewer" part of the Event Logging system. Try here or if you don't like that one here.

What do you want to do? Save logs on multiple machines, consolidate log files?

Im looking for tool that can log system errors that has more features and is more understandable with the errors in more plan english.

I have a pc that restarts around every hour but event viewer does not seem to log what the cause is.

Did you even read my post?

What he said.

Eventviewer cannot be replaced. Its part of the OS. If nothing is being logged then maybe check out the dr watson event log.

If you have hardware errors and your machine is restarting then nothing will get logged anywhere.

If you are writing software you can post into the applications log.

If none of the logs contain information, then nothing's logging it. have a look in msinfo and see what's starting up when your machine starts. Try disabling all start up processes (via msinfo) and let the machine stand doing nothing and see if it reboots. The start enabling the start up things one at a time until the machine starts crashing again. The last one you enabled is the culprit.

I assume you've run virus checks?
