I have fitted about 10 of these in the past few years. Without exception, it was just a matter of plugging each one in, extending the aerial and it worked. In the past 9 months I have bought 4, 1 of which worked fine, the other 3 do not.
The transmitter will pair with the receiver if you collapse the aerial, face them to each other and power them up. Take them to another room 4-5 metres away and they don't work. No cables or pipes in the walls to cause interference. Have brought them to my home, same result
Ellies maintain these have up to 50m range. You take them back to Ellies and they express surprise that they should not work and proceed to demonstrate on the counter that they do work - under 1 metre apart. Take the tx and rx a few metres away and it stops working. "Has to go to Jhb" they say, about 2-3 weeks (this means 6 to 10 weeks)
Anyone have a suggestion about a more reliable product? Person wants to change channels on his HD-PVR from the bedroom
