Beware Android flaw

Cybersecurity experts have uncovered a flaw in a component of the operating system of Google Inc’s widely used Android smartphone that they say hackers can exploit to gain control of the devices.

Hmmmm. they better fix this bug. they are probably working on it. ....

My worry is how long will this fix when issued take to filter down to the cyanogenmod team before it gets to me. The joys of running custom roms.

I will still rather run Android than windows. How many thousnads of hours did they spend to find this risk. I bet there are not many hackers who could even know about this.

No matter what OS you use it will always be at risk. I'll bet MS have a much better process in place for closing security holes, why? Because they've been doing it for years.

Their process is to release a fix sometime in the next few months or a year,
unless you publicly disclose the flaw a few weeks after alerting them.
Then they are forced to patch it asap.

Well not true seeing that the Windows Phone SMS bug still exist.

I am also aware of certain Windows TCP/IP bugs that has been carried over from Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista. with no fix in sight. Their normal reaction is if its not know by the public dont fix it.
