Beware using a fake Facebook or Twitter account

I closed my actual Facebook account and opened 3 "Fake" ones in order to enter competitions.
The accounts I opened were: ****** ***********; ****** ********** and *** ******.

The first 2 accounts are fine, but "*** ******" got flooded with friend requests, so I accepted
them just for fun. I then get asked by like 10 people, "Are you the *** ****** from ** *******?"

So I hardly actually log in to my Facebook accounts, so I haven't bothered to respond yet.

So who is this "*** ****** from ** *******" and am I breaking any laws by having this account?

The account was "technically" opened for personal gain, as I enter competitions with it.

I thought "*** ******" was pretty generic, but apparently not.

I suppose I could change the name to something like "*********** ************"

Would that be better?

Just because you're in another country committing fraud using the name of someone located in the United States does not automatically make you immune. Similarly, defaming someone in such a manner does not make you immune.


If I had to go create a profile claiming to be Sarah Jessica Parker on Facebook and post defamatory remarks there, such as claiming to be a whore and to, in fact, be bovine, not a horse, I could be arrested by interpol.

I'm sure someone far more legally inclined could explain in more detail.

US law does not equal international law. By that logic, the US could extradite me based on torrents I download. Which they cant.
