I've tried CGSO for several blatant cases of fraud like this and it is fraud.Try consumer goods. But they just mediate (to my knowledge) ?. So if Raru ignores them I am not sure what else they can do. But worth a go.
Loot has stock problems sometimes but they refund within 3 working days.Loot can make you wait but no issues other than that, no issues with refunds which is the real issue with Raru.
Dont worry modern debit cards have the same protection as credit cards with online purchases, you can still open a chargeback when goods are not delivered.
I placed an order with Raru on 18 Aug, a couple days later (20 Aug) I was told that there was no stock of the item and that I could request a refund.
So I requested the refund on 20 Aug and they said it would be processed.
It's now 20 Sep (literally a month later) and I have still not received my refund. Customer Services keeps saying that they have a high volume of refunds and that my refund will be processed.
This company is such a scam, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Twice now (shame.on me)I placed an order with Raru on 18 Aug, a couple days later (20 Aug) I was told that there was no stock of the item and that I could request a refund.
So I requested the refund on 20 Aug and they said it would be processed.
It's now 20 Sep (literally a month later) and I have still not received my refund. Customer Services keeps saying that they have a high volume of refunds and that my refund will be processed.
This company is such a scam, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Open a police case; forward them the case number and cc in their payment gate as well as their hosting providers as both are facilitating.Ordered a PS5 from Raru (r10k) - paid for it in september - 3 weeks before the expected date of shipping (October 7th)
no communication was received until the 7th of October came around and I requested feedback, was it shipped? do you have stock? No answers were given
Emails were ignored until I threatened legal action. Suddenly they respond and say a refund will be processed. This is now 26th of October 2021. 3 weeks after they were supposed to ship the product
Today being the 1st of december, they have ignored dozens of emails and still not refunded the money
Do yourself a favour and stay far away from this company. They are highly unethical and border on being criminal

FINALLY got it, but told them bluntly I would not purchase from them again. 2 orders, both of which were an issue before a child's birthday.@JohnStarr what happened to your order?
Other than giving platform/punting them? If you were to punt a shop that does in fact not deal 100% above board are you liable? Let's not forget all the evetech trumpeting...@Jan time for a story?

They say it'll take 3-5 days to ship...they're flat out lying. 7-10 if you're lucky and they do NOT inform you of that.
Actually, Takealot don't notify you of shipping, but their Black Friday shipping was mind-bogglingly good. Ordered stuff for the kids Christmas presents on the Friday night, and it was ready for collection on the Monday afternoon in PLZ.
But Raru...don't use them. Would be interesting to have an article on them though.
You're lucky. I've never understood why it would take 5 days to organise the delivery from CPT to PLZ for instance, when MUCH smaller online stores do it within 3.T

The harsh truth is that PLZ is economically a town, and has slowly been dying of corruption but lots of good people, some of whome haven't arrived in CPT yet, and lots of potential and unfortunately things like takealot rely on mass quantities.You're lucky. Bought LEGO last year from At The Playground for 1 of my kids and from day of order it took 2 days. Takealot would take 5.
Anyways, they're the lesser of the big online retailers in RSA, although I still prefer to order from Amazon.

I'm in Somerset West and and I still usually get CPT stock next day, JHB, is always 2-3 days.
