Beware when ordering from RARU...

Open a chargeback with your bank, you can do that with a debit or credit card.

Same thing happened last year with a game that I ordered that was in stock but they let me know no stock and they will refund. 3 Weeks later they ignored me about the refund. I was gatvol and just ended up asking them for credit and I bought Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition from them. Was happy with the game. But I will never order anything from them again.

Similar thing happened to a colleague. They ignored him about refunds until he threatened legal action. What the hell are wrong with these companies. Aren't we supposed to have consumer protection against them. Yet they still do just whatever they want.

Sad thing is I used to buy from Raru a lot. And they used to be great. But the last 2 years they are terrible. Almost like it's not the same company.

Just a further update on this

On the date of posting this, 1st december 2021, Raru said they had processed the refund

Today being the 6th of december 2021, the money is yet to reflect

So not only have they unethically held my money, but they have now lied about processing the refund as i highly doubt it would take this long to reflect

I have taken the advice of some members here and done a claim back via the bank, hopefully that works out

You are Looking at a month or more for a refund. Contact the bank.

Already surpassed a month since i asked them for a refund and they have lied about processing the refund

Add some unique ones like Orion Engineered Carbons, the only Carbon Black producer in Africa (I don't miss working there though, hayfever season meant black nostrils). Then there are the businesses that support the vehicle manufacturers too - think Faurecia, Benteler, Hella, Kromberg & Schubert, Valeo, Rehau Polymer, Cat-WWL logistics, etc.
 
I think the company has money issues, especially reading the comments here.

They have done away with free shipping ("But some items have free...."****off - "My last order had free....", again **** off) and every week its almost 5% off site wide or buy a R1000 voucher for R900.

Raru insists they have refunded the money yet it does not reflect and the bank does not have any record of it either

Im sure saying you've refunded the money when you have not actually done so is criminal?

Either way, the more publicity this gets, the better

Burn your money before shopping with Raru, you will get a better use of it

And where does the money from those massive companies go?

Certainly not into public services like roads or transport

The wages are very poor compared with the other cities as they can pay PE wages.

I'm not having a go at PE, I loved that city but the governance is the worst in the country. Only thing going for it is the people.

Dude, you're trying desperately to split hairs here. It's a city, classified as one, recognised as one.
Try as hard as you want, and then move on.

Been waiting since the end of June 2021 for some of my items. RARU owes me more than R10 000-00 in undelivered goods – no communication. Got legal advice and it is between a criminal case (might not get my money back) and civil action which will cost me no less than R6 000-00 (already spent just below R1 000-00) on legal advice. On the upside, I should be able to get my legal fees back from these people. Obviously a credit card action should have been best, but these guys are experts – they split the orders so that half the orders do get delivered thus complicating matters. A bunch of scammers.
