So my daughter has outgrown her cheap makro bmx, so we not riding at the moment, I have been wanting to buy her a decent bigger bike.

She recently had a growth spurt and is about 150cm. I think I can for size small mtb. Budget is about R4k, maybe R5k.

I am looking at 2nd hand as I learnt my lesson with the cheapo bike. So want something quality vs price.

I see this second hand bike for R3950,00

Is this too big?

Dont buy something too big... Go. Visit a few shops and test ride some sizes... Im not very tall around 1.78 and i use medium frames..you dont want to be tippy toeing when riding offroad.

What bike does she want

Ok second question, unlike dealers, if buying from someone, what should I check?

General condition of bike, it shifts, brakes work. Wheels are kind of straight and not buckled.

How do I check bearings?

What else?

Never used Bike Hub, is it safe?
I have been a member of the Bike Hub forum for a very long time and bought and sold items through their classifieds section on many occasions. But, as with all online transactions, caveat emptor. Do your due diligence and use your common sense.

I've followed this guide on a few purchases.
