as xrapidx has stated, eBays buyer protection works, BoB's pretty much doesn't exist and just screws you out of cash.

My comment was sarcastic, couldn't find the smiley for it.

I know first-hand that there is no protection with Bidorbuy, kinda like with Choice condoms... found that out the hard way... Bidorbuy "protects" the buyer, uses "certified and approved" sellers, and adds "insurance option", but where are my knock-off products from the East? At least they removed the seller, but he resurfaced with a different account.

I would just like to say that sketchy people are found everywhere and that services should not be avoided on a whim. I currently make my living conducting sales via BoB and GumTree as a private trader and work very hard to maintain my excellent reputation as a Seller. I have to deal with more than my fair share of undesirables from this standpoint too, unfortunately.

Word-of-mouth derision can cause significant damage to more than your initial target/s.

With Ebay the seller gets screwed.
The buyer puts in a claim with Paypal saying that when he opened the parcel there was nothing inside.
Paypal very seldom sides with the seller.
Payment gets reversed from sellers Paypal account back into buyer's account.
