Big Brother is reading ... your email

In this case "big brother" includes Google who have admitted to using clients emails for their business.

Exactly they are all wrong. NSA does it for security Google does it for money so to me they are the same bad brothers. Google is not justified
 
Well, there's a big difference when one is reading your email, looking for incriminating evidence. And the other is a bot for the targeting of advertising. I prefer the second, especially when I am gaining a benefit from the services they provide. In an ideal world, I'd prefer neither. But in that ideal world there would probably be far fewer "free" services.

I'm just the opposite.

I understand the State keeping tabs on criminals and terrorists, and personally I have no fear of them finding incriminating evidence.

But I strongly resent a private company going through my emails in word-for-word detail, making money by selling my profile to people who target me for advertising.

Won't touch Google services with a barge pole.

You have no guarantee on what is and what is not incriminating.
 
Most of my E-mails contain midget and trap porn attachments to it.

Because information is never shared with the government and other businesses.

This guy here does a lot of searches for diabetes medication and side effects. We don't have access to his doctor, but maybe his insurer should know and they'll pay for lists of persons who do such searches.

Both are intrusions of privacy and should not occur.

With a warrant and probable cause and clear oversight in an entirely transparent way, ONLY. Not the way it's done in a blanket fashion.

Google never "Sells your profile" to other companies. All they do is provide better services to companies as they guarantee that their adverts will be sent to people who more likely will find it interesting. Never understood why people are bothered by this.

In fact do you use any free services, because I can tell you now that the vast majority of those free services are using your information for directing company advertisements to you.
 
Considering that security agencies aren't suddenly going to give up the access they currently have to sift through data at the physical layer, an increase in the volume of encrypted data will force more security agencies to cooperate with one another and they will still be able to determine where encrypted data came from and where it is/was being sent, which is still a key piece of information especially if it looks like the source and destination are being obfuscated as that would flag data for detailed inspection.

Maybe because people don't want to be profiled. I guess it's strange to not want your search, usage and message history tracked. I'm fascinated by people who don't mind this.

Maybe he uses a browser with the necessary anonymising add-ons. But when you email or google chat you can't avoid that unless your emails are encrypted.
 
If big brother is reading my email can he please remind me to get some milk on my way home… :rolleyes:
