It's a contentious issue because one never signs anything legally binding when "Googling" or some such which spells out in detail what Google does exactly with one's data and what possible impact it may have on one. Perhaps when you join GMAIL, although in some jurisdictions even such EULAS/TOS are not as binding as paper contracts which have been notorized and so on.

Instead I get promises from Google that there are creams and lotions available that will make my lens longer…

Maybe Google employs some advanced AI which can read not just the literal meaning of the text but also gather other cues which help it understand the target's marital situation. ;)

If everyone is using Google you don't really have much of a choice if all the smaller engines have been killed off.

Where's Altavista? Excite? Infoseek? Lycos?

We now mosltly have Google and Bing.

I guess one could use Baidu or Yandex.
