Just don't say it always goes up in December. Another forumite tried that once and I went back over the past decade on CEF website and at that time, 6 of the 10 times it had gone down from November to December...

It depends on supply and demand. I would never say it for a specific period of time. But our summer we will have increases in general due to the demand in Europe.

The oil price is at a 2 year high. I think the hurricanes in the gulf of Mexico and the southern US may have taken out some oil producing facilities there.

The US is quite balanced. Rigs were taken offline, lower supply but refineries were shut down too. That lowers the oil price, as refiners are on the demand side for crude.

This is mostly people believing the OPEC story. Each week a different oil minister says that cuts are working and could be extended. The Brent premium over WTI keeps growing.

WTI is a US price while Brent is more global and affected by OPEC.
