Cheapest 4K big-screen TVs in South Africa — including several options under R10,000

Higher-resolution TVs have increased in popularity in South Africa, and, as a result, the prices of 4K TVs have fallen considerably, including for models 65 inches and larger.

When LG launched its first 4K TV in 2012, it had an 84-inch panel and cost $20,000 (R164,230). However, South Africans can now grab a big-screen 4K TV from a well-known brand for as little as R8,999.

I'm actually in the market but these all look like budget options. I'd rather spend a little more and keep it for a while. For reference I'm still running a 10+ year old non-smart Bravia. What would be a similar choice today? Sony still the king of TVs? Can one get a non-smart TV still?

You can get a non-smart TV, but it's not going to be from the likes of Sony, Samsung or LG

My ancient 40" LCD Sony Bravia started doing weird **** the other day, it starts doing its own thing changing channels, going into demo mode all by itself. Picture still great though. I'm very sad.

I suspected that this might be the case. I read somewhere that Samsung has ads on their bloatware, is this peculiar to them or is it a widespread practice?

Yea this looks amazing! What I have learned is that finding Sony TVs ins SA is very difficult. I'm not finding them in the usual places (Game/Makro, etc.)
