Biggest ADSL bandwidth hogs in SA

It must be schoolboys downloading the Internet.

No adult with a job plus family will ever be able to watch everything that they download. If they do, it means they won't have the latter for much longer. ;)

Also, the world has moved to on-demand streaming, why download at all?

Because some people download for their friends and family.

I kinda blame you for using OW though...

Also, YOU only used 17GBs, but the other 5 people OW shared your account with may have used high amounts of data as well. So in total the account was identified as a high usage account.

We aren't defining what people can or cannot do. That is up to the ISPs.
But we are allowed an opinion. And thats all it is..

ISPs have FUPs etc and they get people rather heated.

If I paid for it, I have the right to take as many lobsters as I please, same applies to bandwith.

- has limited IPC capacity
- limited internet capacity

The usage is not constant. It is particularly heavy near the end of the month and during certain tome slots.

So for there to be no throttling or shaping they would need a lot, lot more IPC and internet capacity

Thats costs money... which means the prices go up ... a lot.

Not enough ipc capacity=poor network in my book....

Also capped consumer have already paid for their bandwith but still get shaped. Try to justify that from a consumers perspective...

You pay as a consumer for contended network access. Same applies to capped - the network still has to contend - it is not uncontended unshaped gigs. This is why we have always maintained that the term "unshaped" is a bit misleading and state as such on our support site and go into detail on contention too. If you want dedicated (1:1 uncontended) access, the costs balloon substantially...
 
I see the CW capped prices have changed! R949 for 425GB and unlimited midnight data. And rollover data soon too if DJ's comments are accurate. I really hope I'm a CW customer with a 100Mbit line this time next month.

Subjective threshold? Maybe the "hogs" would say 1.5TB is not a bad threshold for 10Mbps
