I guess some common sense should be exercised by everyone. I just don't always see common sense being used (drivers and bikers). It is quite a mission to always stay calm![]()
Sure. But for me it is creating additional opportunities for accidents. Lanes are designed for one vehicle at a time. Otherwise why separate them? Why have any road markings at all and let 3 cars drive abreast if they can squeeze by on a road which previously had two lanes. That's what we're actually justifying if we're consistent with lane splitting. Because it implies that at every time a lane should make provision for a bike and a car (for reasons of safety especially).
