Billion Router problem.

Ok, so a bud of mine has an Mweb Billion router and he just recently tried to make a PPPoE connection and found he can't. Gets an 'Error 651'. I told him to make sure the router is in bridge mode but it seems it's network locked and everything is just greyed out.

Any advice on how to either get around the error or get the router into Bridge mode?

It's either PPPoE Relay or Bridged Mode.

Have him check that. If it fails, post the model number and we might be able to help ;)

Daai settings is grys ou tera....
Hulle het mos die routers gelock so jy kan nie die ding in bridge mode sit nie of die setting verander nie...

Ek onthou. Dit is die een waar almal probeer reflash het met ander FW. Was lanklaas wat die Model opgepop het :p

I know the older ones couldnt be unlocked, so you might be out of luck.

You can give Billion locally a call tomorrow and ask them if there is anything you can do 0126571317 or you can send BillionTech a pm.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
 
Ah well, best I find out for him this way hey ..... thanks for the info bru.
 
If Mweb didn't prohibit you from upgrading the firmware, then you can simply flash it with newer firmware to get all the functionality back :D
