Anybody else have issues with their wifi on their Billion w40 routers?

Everything was fine until a few weeks ago when the wifi signal just went missing. After checking that everything was still working in the configuration page and saving to config, suddenly the wifi signal appeared again.
From then on every few days the signal has gone missing and I can usually fix it by changing the password or some other small settings and saving it to the router.

Well that is until today. This morning my HTC desire can't even connect to the wireless signal, my laptop says that the signal doesn't even exist in the next room and I just want to throw this new router out of the window.

From what I am seeing on the web, the Billion w40 is a custom firmware for mweb. Any chance to debrand it and get it back to a normal router's firmware?

how many clients are connecting to that router? more than two and **** starts going bananas.

Hi armitage,

What firmware version are you running on at the moment? Your problem might be related to interferences, but the fact that you need to change the settings in order for it to work again, sounds more like a firmware or config issue.

Why do ISP's insist on using Billion routers. They give us nothing but hassles. We eventually harassed IS enough that they replaced them with Cisco routers.
I presume you use Mweb as your ISP? Contact their service delivery manager/account manager for your account and ask them for a new router. It could be firmware or it could be just plain faulty.
