Bird Photography

Been shopping again before the rand rolls gear up even more.
Not sure if this is the a good way to compare or not but here goes.
D800/Nikon 70-200 F4 with & without TC-20E -III.
Just cropped & resized for web,no other alterations.
Shot in Program mode to try keep the exposure similiar.
Used DX image area for both.
Its a cloudy,overcast day here.

I did some comparisons myself today. I was wondering what would get me to around 800mm for cricket - a fullframe with a 2x on my 400mm f/2.8 (total 800mm) or an APS-C with a 1.4x on the same 400mm (896mm). I was actually a little surprised that the full frame combo gave me significantly better results.

This is probably a comparison I should have done at the beginning of the season…

Ja nee...

I don't think bird photography is for me...

Spent 2 hours at Austin Roberts this morning and I might have 2 shots to work with.

AhComment. I only saw the Red Palio as I left. Sorry.

Last one.

If only I had a longer lens... Or get closer. Would have been a great shot.

Last one - that reflection is just plain GOOD. :)
Bird pix not for you ? Shut up about that.
APoc has talent !

At least ARMBS got over the rains this time , but more and more gunk flows in from Brooklyn shopping / commercial area.:mad:
Been wondering about that! About time Tshwane Muni gets a bit of a cracker up the vent to fit litter and stormwater traps then?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I just set myself pretty high standards so I feel disappointed when I do not live up to those expectations.

I'll certainly go and try again.

Shooting Avian ain't for chickens ! Yet - a question if I may , what is your main subjects / interest ?

Don't worry - I remain convinced kids are the best practice subjects for aspiring sports photographers - at least once they start moving. ;)
