BIS upgraded to 3.2

cool stuff....then what was all the BS about with vodacom?

This doens't really work yet, not on MTN anyway.
I didn't realise this was a new feature - got on BB only 2 days ago and thought the sync options on the MTN desktop-accessed website just looks dodgy so I skipped it. Google sync app works just fine for what I need of it. I now tried this again, but MTN gives you instructions you can't follow because of their silly WAP Email-Settings page which replaces the more proper settings app.

"If you have not already done so, to start calendar and contact synchronization, complete the security activation on your BlackBerry® device:
1. On the Home screen, click the Setup icon and click Email Accounts or Email Settings.
2. After you open the application, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, calendar and contact synchronization automatically begins."

No kind of security activation seems to take place when you load their WAP page. That WAP page doesn't give these new sync options. Perhaps MTN still needs to propagate some upgrades on this section of the chain?

Yep same thing here, on MTN. Looks like MTN has not updated that WAP page since the settings there do not have any option about calendar/contact sync, but the website [as visited on the PC] does...so something screwy. Guess i'll just stick to Google Sync until MTN wakes up.

EDIT: Some say, deleting and re-adding the gmail account might do the trick. BUT since there's NO settings available [i.e. how far ahead to sync the calendar] this whole thing is pretty inflexible compared to Google Sync [which does have various settings on how it must sync]. So i'd most likely continue to use Gsync since it's alot more configurable.

Works 100% on Vodacom, was using google sync prior to this. I'm glad that I can now remove google sync which does tend to drain ones battery.

In tems of MTN, I had the same issue previously with Vodacom. So yes, I'm guessing MTN has done something wrong on their side.

Apparently, according to my friend, the following works, but I'm not ready to try this any time soon:
* Remove account.
* Reformat phone (different country's firmware, which gives you an actual email setup app).
* Set up account again.

Vodacom has indeed updated their side, however, has anyone got the sync to actually work? Mine just hangs on activating but never does anything.

I'm on MTN with a 9000 and have the same issues (but my gf's 8900 is fine). I phoned MTN, no help. I used BBSAK to wipe my device, do a factory reset - everything! No luck :(

They have forwarded my issue to RIM. I think it exceeds the skill set at MTN. They didn't understand that we need an extra service book '5 Click BISClientConfig'.
