BitCo Consumer Review

Okay looks like I got excited for nothing, got home tested the internet for 10 minutes, got some chow, came back and no internet connection, dear god if I had R10 for every time I was disappointing by an ISP in SA i'd be on my way to Europe right now just for their internet, anyway it picks up the connection, just shows that dreaded yellow triangle with the exclamation mark over the internet icon in the right hand corner of windows, really hope I just caught them during their 1% downtime, but all and all my day 1 impressions are not good:mad:

strange, I been connected just fine...
 
Okay managed to fix it, unplugged and reconnected everything, not sure if thats what actually fixed the problem, or it just fixed itself, but I'm "on the line" again:)

We've had no downtime, but I can confirm your link, specifically, has shown issues the past few hours. I will ask an engineer to double check your link to see what the source of the problem is.

I am sure you will happy as soon as we find the problem.
 
So a record of my journey with BitCo begins as of tomorrow. I filled out the Contact Us form for the 5Mbps Home Wireless product. Let's see how well they do in contacting me.
I have decided a month to month package but that may change...
The barrier to entry on the month-to-month package is a bit steep but if they are using Cisco equipment then it is worth it. From what I have read thus far sounds like a good competitor to Neotel's NeoBroadband product but for consumers.

Garth, please expedite my request. I have had no internet connectivity now for 5 days and my family is going through withdrawal and depression symptoms!

This morning everything was still running fine, so I guess the unplugging/rebooting fixed the issue

But yeah other than the slight hiccup the first night, I'm REALLY impressed with the pings I get to local servers, played some Counter Strike GO last night, pings was sitting stable at 13-15ms, peaking at like 20ms, thats better than 99% of the other people on the server, who are most probably using adsl

That's great Wikkels. We are still monitoring your link. I am hoping that the engineer who programmed your link saved the configuration but forgot to apply it.

Fk me gently, if I was to get pings like that I would be over the moon. I just need a constant sub 100 ping for gaming. That is mainly ALL i use the internet for. With it being uncapped the wife might want a series episode or 2 downloaded weekly but that would be it. Submitted my completed forms with copy of ID and a confirmation of my address. And so the wait begins.

Also completed my application two days ago. Haven't had any further contact from the wireless team. Hoping I get contacted sometime today. Wife wants to be up and running ASAP and I'll be taking the brunt if things don't happen as planned...
 
In my case it took eight days from submission of application to date of LOS test (which is this afternoon). Still within the fourteen days we are advised it could take, so I'm a happy camper for now.

I'm in no direct hurry. They said 2 weeks, so no rush for me. (Wait I should not say this, maybe Garth sees it as me not needing it urgently :D) Currently on CellC, Vodacom and MTN. Would be a blessing not to be paying an arm and a leg to keep those 3 sims up and running the whole month.

If the 5mb product gets throttled to 2mb in certain circumstances, what speeds do the 2mb and 10mb products get throttled to?

Hello i am interested in BitCo Telkom is driving me Crazy we have a rather Large L shapped house and would like to know in meters how far does BitCo Signal travel in your house we need a min of 20 meters? any help would be much appreciated:confused::)
