BitCo Consumer Review

Hi Guys,

We have experienced a failure on our high site in Sandton

We suspect this is due to a lightning strike

A team is on route with replacement equipment as the storm has now passed

Services will be restored as soon as possible

Mike

Any news mike ?

Hi Moosag,

The client facing radio equipment was damaged by the lightning strike, the team is on site busy replacing the equipment.

One side is already online, i will confirm once services are fully restored

Bitco, any answer to my query on pg.183? I really am interested in a 10mbps package however being able to play CSGo with no loss (other than server side) is important to me. Thanks to pitbull for the reply, just looking for a more specific answer regarding CSGo.

If you have the server addresses I can do a couple of hundred pings and send it to you via PM? Will paste a summary here ofc.

Thanks Pitbull,

That's a great idea as it would be directly from your last mile connection

Im not too sure about the mathmaking servers, however, mweb provides the servers, so i'll just paste one of the ips of their casual servers (theoretically the same thing)197.80.200.20.

Thanks in advance

Just as an added thought, pinging the address will provide me with the latency to the server as well as any MAJOR packet loss. However it will not provide any indication if there are low levels of packet loss i.e. 2-8% loss. If i do sign up for the 10mbps package, is there any guarantee that ill have no issues in that regard?

I wish there was a way to check progress of this soaking period.

Excited to try it out. It's been hell budgeting precious tiny 3G data caps and not being able to watch any videos or streams of any kind for months. So close now I can almost taste it.

Thanks,

The bad news is 8 of the towers is on the wrong side of the mountain; so i will only have 2 option for LOS.

Still waiting on confirmation date.

Currently I am now waiting for Bitco wirless division to contact me.
since last monday i got this e-mail
"Our wireless division will be in contact to arrange date and time for a site survey with the intention to install."
After I gave all my form to install.

But i couldnt wait so i contact them last thursday they mention me they will call back.
Since after i didnt get any responce so i call friday morning i called I heard that i will be hearing from them friday afternoon.
But since now i didnt hear so i call again just now but its not available me to talk anybody.
So now i dont know what to do.
Shall i just wait for the call?

My wife is keep asking me when they are coming to install.
Its little bit frustrating...

I'll do a 250 pings for you. That would give you a clear indication of any packet loss for a period of time. I'll run it quickly and PM you the full log

summary:
Ping statistics for 197.80.200.20:
Packets: Sent = 250, Received = 250, Lost = 0 (0% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 9ms, Maximum = 772ms, Average = 19ms

There was one spike to 772 but it is raining here now no idea what happened there
