BitCo Consumer Review

Is there a normal time the technicians come out for installation? They are supposed to come today but have not heard anything yet.

Yeah but that's kinda besides the point as the "leaky bucket system" will favor the 10Mbps Package especially in the case of streaming (with downloading you should be throttled within the hour). I'm asking Bitco what's going on with the proposed new FUP as discussed last year and how the trials are going as it seems they gone all quite about it since new year .

Did they show up yet?

My install date is on Thursday, let's hope they can keep to their appointments.

Yeah they showed up and I had LOS and the installation went smooth. Now just waiting for the soaking period.

I assumed the trials were over and that the system was in place? Anyhow then, I'm on the trial, I klap it sometimes, and I'm usually only throttled after 4-5hours (heavy downloading). Otherwise I don't think I've ever hit it due to streaming. Some days I can do 6gb of YouTube alone, and have never encountered problems.

We have increased batteries on site and the area is 100% operational again. A transformer in the area has blown and Eskom is attending.

Does anybody have the Bitco service running in the Kloofendal area?

How does it perform?
How stable is it?

They only install if they are able to give you stable internet, meaning you have Line of Sight and close enough to the tower (under 6KM).

I'm connected to Helderkruin tower from Radiokop 5km away and the connection is very stable and it does not get affected by heavy rain and indirect lightning at all. This tower will cover the Kloofendal area as well, if you have Line of Site.
My connection feels fast and uncontended.
Please take note that you understand the FUP, ask the sales people at BitCo to explain it to you. :D
 
FUP - Printed and studied, its a bit over the top but livable for now.

As long as the connection performs and is stable, continuously, day in day out!
 
I cannot wait I cannot wait just sent in my acceptance Quote now, now to wait for the installation date... gives me time to eradicate any and all trees that even looks like it going to obscure my LOS. I'm in the coverage area, but I know that means diddly squat with out LOS, so fingers crossed.

Hey everyone - i am looking into Bitco again after deciding against them a while back.
Are there any issues i need to be aware of before signing up?
I would be going for the 10mb connection.

I doubt I'll be so lucky. They even missed my installation appointment, but even if they do show up one day, I probably won't have LOS. Tall trees and so forth.

But if the stated soaking period is correct, you should have internet by Monday. So jealous. :P
Too bad you have to wait the whole weekend.
