Seems to be the DNS that is down. A bit of a concern that if something happens their phone systems also go down.

Also, I am connected to Kyalami Castle I think.

Hey guys I have a few questions.

1. If I download a large file and get throttled to 2mbps, will it stay throttled at 2mbps or will it go down even more? Reason I am asking is because I really don't mind downloading at 200 kb/s :)

2. I see you can go on a month to month payment option but that means I need to pay around R4000 which is way too much. If I go for the 12 month option, does that mean if I dislike the service, will I have to stay with it for a whole year?

3. Is your service available in Maraisburg? (Florida side)

1.) Nope, wont go down more than half your line speed.
2.) Jip if you sign up for the 12month option, you're going to have to see it through for 12 months.
3.) Check their coverage map: http://bitco.co.za/coverage/

Wikkels just about answered all your questions.

Just to add to 1.) It might go below 200kbps if you are also streaming while downloading and throttled to 200 kbps.
But the correct answer is no. You only get limited to 2mbps and not lower.

Love working from home. When you're at the office and this happens you can't do anything. At least at home you can wash the dishes or tidy up. Not that I'm going to... hehehe... will play at being a vegetable in the sun

Hey guys, just got hold of one of the account managers. He says that a construction company in Randburg hit a water pipe and their fibre backbone quite deep. A team was dispatched 20 minutes ago to fix.

Thanks for the update. Sounds pretty terminal for a good while at least.

These idiots and water pipe construction... They hit my electricity 2 months ago... had to wait 2 days for City power to fix... than this morning they hit another water pipe and it burst our internal pipe!

These guys are morons of the highest order.

Now they hit my internet! And I am not even a customer for a full week lol!

ARG!!! [INSERT THE MOST OBSCENE PROFANITY HERE] Towards said digging company!

Hi Guys,

Need some help . During the outage my wife phoned me to ask what was going on with internet and I asked her to reboot the router but she RESET it :D . Can someone just give me the default DNS settings on your router , I know the ip for the WAN interface not sure about the other settings , a screenshot of the settings would also help alot , thanks !
