BitCo Consumer Review

Lol... looks like you can take 4 links to 4 different towers from your home.

Garthvs what do the different shades of purple actually mean?
At my location, I am in the 5th outer ring of shade of purple, what does that mean exactly with regards to signal quality etc?

Garth, I'm moving somewhere between Harties and Pta in a couple of months (close to sunset view railway station which google finds). No coverage there at all :(. You're welcome to put a tower up on the plot if you wish :)

Yeah good question, I'm also in one of the outer rings, but luckily far from the edge of it

If you scan on the 5GHz spectrum then yes. And you need something powerful such as MikroTik or Ubiquiti.

We are very conservative with our coverage rings so we do occasionally install clients that have good elevation outside a ring. The last edge of the rings are 8km away from the tower, or put another way, each ring has a radius of 8km.

The performance of your link is the same, whether you are 100m away from the tower or 8km away from the tower. We spend a bit more on our equipment rather than install links that "only just work".

You wouldn't be able to see any SSID or signal details from our equipment as the tower equipment does not run "standard" Wifi.

I am 7.2km from my tower and test conducted I could run 10mb/s easily. My 4mb uncapped is rock solid.

Lived666, let them come and do a test.

Here are some stats off my Ubiquiti Nano Bridge M5

Signal Strength: -60 dBm
Horizontal / Vertical:-64 / -62 dBm
Noise Floor:-95 dBm
Transmit CCQ:87.5 %
TX/RX Rate: 117 Mbps / 19.5 Mbps
Distance:4.5 miles (7.2 km)

If they use proper equipment, you won't have a hassle. They sound like they are keeping their customers happy.

Looking forward to Bitco site visit soon ! , I'm also on outer edge in Heuweloord , but pretty elevated , just holding thumbs I have LOS :)

Have my sales invoice :D Just waiting on the install team to come out now!

what package you getting? im skeptical about the 2 meg package. i do an average of 150 to 200 gigs and worried that i would be throttled most of the time, although i believe you can still use the net when throttled

We have close to 50 new home users up and running so far and the feedback has been really positive.

We are still fairly new to supplying home Internet so if anyone is not extremely happy with the service please PM me or contact our support desk and we will see how we can tweak the service to suit your needs.

Gary, will you be dual stacking ipv6 any time soon?

Would be get to see an internet access provider move in this direction. Let me know if you want to chat about ipv6, our entire network is native ipv6 and it works like a Boss!
