BitCo Consumer Review

Uhm multiple games, RPG/MMO games are still playable with the packet loss, if you playing PVE at least (although a recipe for rage:D) in fps games you're at major disadvantage, try aiming at someone's head, click AND...... NOTHING, next moment, boom you're dead, because on the server you just stood there like an idiot, the click from the client side never registered on the server, thanks to packet loss

Anyway not sure what exactly you were asking:p, but here are games I'm playing (or trying) online

CSGO
Diablo 3
WoW
Path of Exile
Guild wars 2

I play:
COD MW3 on PS3 - Never had issues
Rust PC - There has been times my ping would jump roughly about 10 - 20 ms more than normal. But never really seen anything where I had a lag spike that I ended up dead from it.
Insurgency PC - No problems to date
7 Days to Die PC - No problem to date
Played WoW for ages even a bit on Bitco, but as I said. I'm not an Arena guy so never experienced any issues. Maybe I'm just not good enough at any of these games to feel a difference :o
I was actually told to get CS GO on steam this weekend. Will probably get it and download it over the weekend and see.

You see this is what ticks me off, I don't for a second doubt that you guys aren't getting awesome service, there's clearly something wrong with my connection, those first few weeks it ran like a dream, but somewhere something went wrong, every-time I complain, it gets fixed for a while, or the packet loss if I monitor it is way lower in percentage, which to me is clear sign that the fault is on their side.

Just wish they would actually talk to me, because evertime I complain, they attend to my problem with excellent service, then I follow up with "its still not performing 100%" and then they just ignore me until I complain again a few weeks down the line. I don't like to be difficult, if everyone else had this issue, I would've probably just left it, ride it out for 2 years, and tell myself "knew it was to good to be true"... But what starting to get to me is that 99% of the customers are over the moon, and I just want the same quality of internet they're getting.

Please note, I'm not saying I aint having the problems you are experiencing. I just don't know if I do. I haven't picked up anything. If I know how to look for it I would prob be able to confirm it or not.

I'm not 100% happy with my ping on international servers, but hey, it's not Telkom.

I am still waiting for Garth to contact me so that we can sort it out though.

Trust me you'll know, I'll try and record a gameplay video of CSGO where it happens, and post the youtube link here, you'll see its pretty obvious even to the spectating eye that something is wrong, so I'm sure if you had the same problem, you would've had a controller through your tv already:p

Don't think my problem is related to this, although there were times before where I had some ping spikes, when the packet loss occurs, my ping still stays low, not even spiking a little bit

I'll record some gameplay in League of Legends, hopefully I'll catch the spike! It's also as if I'm disconnecting.

As for ping, the first day I got bitco my international ping was 170, but now it sits around 210, which is still great, although I do miss the lower ping :(

Yeah I noticed that on Blizzard EU servers to, at one point it was below 200, now its just over 200 gain, but this to me is not a problem, 210 is still more that acceptable to international servers

Wikkels, if I were Garth I'd motivate to get you a new set of equipment as yours seems to be the only one griefing that much - I've been following the thread from the beginning so can understand your pain heh

ok there's 77 pages and i read through as much as i could but has any one used bitco for business? i'm looking at getting the 30mbps link and i was wondering how this service compares to other ISP's not price wise but performance?

Hey guys I have a few questions.

1. If I download a large file and get throttled to 2mbps, will it stay throttled at 2mbps or will it go down even more? Reason I am asking is because I really don't mind downloading at 200 kb/s :)

2. I see you can go on a month to month payment option but that means I need to pay around R4000 which is way too much. If I go for the 12 month option, does that mean if I dislike the service, will I have to stay with it for a whole year?

3. Is your service available in Maraisburg? (Florida side)

Ouch. Reminds me of the early days of Diablo 3 and my rubbish ADSL line.

1.) Nope, wont go down more than half your line speed.
2.) Jip if you sign up for the 12month option, you're going to have to see it through for 12 months.
3.) Check their coverage map: http://bitco.co.za/coverage/

Connection appears to be down. Tried to phone 08600 24826 but it does not work. Whole bitco network down?

And I have a VIP conference call at 11:00

Ah well, these things happen. Bank I am doing work for also died earlier this week. Yes you all know which one!
