BitCo Consumer Review

Interesting... And where would I find my static IP? Or rather, what range do I use?
I got mine from the guys that installed my unit. Looks something like this: 154.127.122.XXX

Well I got home now and my Link is working

They installed yesterday, haven't gotten a call from BitCo though.

Anyone know the Routers username and password? Please PM me...

Anyone in the Amberfield area? any idea where the nearest highsite is?

Is anyone experiencing buffering issues with streaming on a 5MB line ?

This happens even when i am using lan cable.

I've been dodging work the whole morning and watching YouTube clips at 1080p, haven't noticed any issues today no. In actual fact when I ran a speedtest earlier I got my highest result since starting the service.

Was also streaming 1080 with zero buffering...

Maybe get the IP of some youtube video and pathping in CMD. this will show you where the lag is.

I ran one last night and got 3ms ping max to google.co.za with zero packet loss..

Where's garthvs gone - Last Activity 03-09-2014 04:27 PM

Lol might be coincidence, but since more and more people started complaining, he's been MIA on the forums, not replying on any of my emails as well, and contacting their support line i get into contact with people that dont have a clue, he seems to be the only one that knows whats going on...Going to give him the benefit of the doubt though, might be on leave:D

I have e-mail Michael and will try and find out what happened to Garth. I suspect he might be on leave. Also requested to please get a rep here in Garth's absence I got the following Auto reply:

Thank you for your e-mail. Please note that I will be out of the office from 04 September 2014 and will be returning on 12 September 2014.

During this time I will have limited access to e-mail

I think they on leave. Will see if I can get someone else to assist on here.

Everything else works well: Netflix in HD even when i am shapped, the issue is the xbmx(ntv), even at full link capability, it buffers

Having the same issue , ntv not streaming well at all so far .

Just a thought, but perhaps on the Bitco side they may need to optimize for ntv?? I don't want to say shaping, but very early on in this thread I know they had to make some changes for certain games to work correctly.

what is the shaping policy (if any) with Bitco? Do they have completely unshaped periods like midnight - 6am etc.?

From what I can tell there is no shaping at the moment. Only the throttle where it cuts your line speed

thanks for the reply - so how does the throttle work? Is it on a rolling window period, or gets lifted after a certain amount of time.

Sorry for all the questions - doing some research as I'm looking to move from ADSL :)

Basically if you download at full speed for an hour, it will limit you to 2Mbps (5Mbps original). If you stop downloading it then takes about an hour to reset. Works really well I find. If you download at say half of full speed it takes longer to limit you, but will still reset in 1 hour after you stop.

And to add to this, I've found that the throttling mostly happen during office hours, most of the times if I download, it'll run through the night and if I wake up in the morning its still going full speed
