BitCo Consumer Review

PM me your battletag and I'll add you in wow.
I'll take you through some 2's at 1800+ and we can see when I'm getting spiked compared to you.

This we can do.

Just note I'm no Arena player and have no PvP gear :p

Will PM you now, and we'll play a bit tonight and see what this is you guys are experiencing. Maybe I do too and don't even know if.

The closest high site we have to park town is in a very tall building in the middle of Rosebank if you climb on your roof and have an unobstructed view of Rosebank you should be good to go :-)

Seems we're at the end of the road. Most of Parktown (the residential side at least) is on the southern slope of the Braamfontein ridge. I am almost 100% there is no LOS to Rosebank.

It's been fun. Good luck to everyone with your issues.

Regards,
John

Hi John,

We do have a 2 high sites in JHB Town center, one being in Braamfontein so still worth a shot if you can see all the tall buildings

Hi All,

Wow a very busy thread today, took me a good few min to read everything :)

@Murmaider that is a serious essay above and i thoroughly enjoyed reading it

Firstly i want to say thank you to everyone for all the feedback both positive and negative, we at BitCo take all this feedback as constructive and use all this information to refine our consumer offering to ensure we deliver the best possible product

its going to be difficult to comment on everything above so i want to take this opportunity to respond to the two recurring points:

1: FUP Trial

The FUP Trial is currently live with various users, we have implemented some new configuration which we believe will fully resolve the FUP when streaming online media, i'm sure we will see some feedback from users soon :-)

PS: Murmaider is part of the trial, we couldn't leave you out after all the hard work he put in with your review :)

2:Support

As i mentioned in my previous post a few days ago we are in the process of splitting our business and residential support departments, we will also soon be opening support over weekends and in the evenings for trouble shooting and general support queries

I am confident with the changes we are busy implementing the above concerns will be resolved

Mike

Evening Mike,

Just got off playing a few Arena's with Murmaider (Was epic btw :p). I could see the lag issues he's having. I haven't experienced any. With the ratings he's playing I can see it being a concern. What seems to happen is the game flows perfectly, then for a second or so he would freeze as if there is a packet loss and then jump ahead 2 or 3 frames. We've been playing together now for about 1 hour maybe 1.5? Maybe you can review my data together with his and see if maybe you guys pick up anything from there? Was from about 22:00 ish till now at 23:00.

Hope it helps.

Yeah the games were epic, the lag sucked ass.

Bitco really need to sort this out.
What it does tell me is that it's not a shaping or a traffic priority issue, its something related directly to my connection.

Hello Mike,

I asked you what the closest site to Parktown was. Rosebank is further away than Braamfontein from Parktown. You almost lost me there.

How high are these sites n town centre? The slopes to the south and west in Parktown can sometimes be an issue.

I am not doing anything in any case until conclusive results showing a vast improvement in normal internet services like streaming services is demonstrated here by testimonials from multiple users.

Thanks
John

So after a suggestion from Mike to test my 2mbs link on 5mbs to see if it handles the interference that I'm getting on my highsite any better, my link has been upgraded to test, Garth let me know last night a 9pm that changes have been made, I gamed for about an hour an a half and everything ran flawlessly, no packet loss issues whatsoever, will test a few more days and if everything remains issue free I'll do the permanent upgrade... Oh and also see that I'm on the new FUP trial, downloaded a fresh client of WoW last night, seems like the throttling only kicks in after about 4 hours now:)

Hi guys out of curiosity how many gigs of data can I download with the 5mbps a day?

Currently, you will be lucky if you get 1GB before you get throttled

I don' try hard and (I'm only here in the evenings mainly) and average around 4-5gb. Pushing it, I can do 10gb if I want to (involves my P2P). But I never really download past 11.
I'm busy testing streaming at the moment, that will most likely increase my amount downloaded.

YES YES YES. Thank you sooo much for the new FUP. Very Very happy customer.:D:D:D

Streaming like a boss

Thank you Bitco

soo....

when do the rest of us get the new FUP or is it still in beta ?

Morning Mike/Garth,

Don't know if it has anything to do with the FUP trial or not. I hade a few connection issues on the Playstation playing COD MW3. I would set signed out from PSN and have endless problems connecting again. This happened from around 18:00 till about 19:00. After that it was fine.

I brushed it off as maybe being a PSN issue as the streaming and things still worked fine. Will keep you posted if it keeps happening. Apart from that I noticed no change with regards to the streaming. Wasn't playing WoW last night so will check that over the weekend. Might try and download some stuff as well to check the downloading for you.

Hi Cited,

If we go with the current FUP, you will get 1 hour of full speed (5Mbps) and 23 hours of approximately 2Mbps,
so if you downloaded constantly for 24 hours you could download approximately 17GB that day.

Regards
Jarryd

anyone know perhaps where the high sites are located for Pomona ? (kempton park)

i want to do a LOS myself to check before the technicians come out.
