BitCo Consumer Review

Nice one, you upgraded to 10Mbps?

I'm concidering it, but don't have that requirement now. Maybe upgrade the Kids TV and then upgrade to 10 Mbps :o

Just do it! :D :D I am also on the 10Mbps package and it's awesome. I often download Linux images from SuseStudio for testing, so it's about 600MB a time. Awesome having that come down in a few minutes and still streaming movies.

So it's past six, and yet I still can't download torrents past the 400kbps mark, as if it's stuck...

On this Garth, since you're here. I found a place called Vudu yesterday. They seem to have quiet a good variety and thinking of signing up with them too. Are they also provisioned as with Netflix and Hulu or not/not as yet?

We been watching Vudu for about 3 months, it's like Box office but way better and works 100% even on the HDX streaming.

Hi Garth,

Yes, even when i stream some videos via Youtube I do get that buffering that is happening. Also checked that no other devices in the household is connected to the router but still the same. I'm not sure why this is but I will really appreciate some troubleshooting ideas if you can provide. Thanks.

Just contacted Bitco after finally getting rid of the clowns at LemonConnect. I placed my order and I hope to join the other happy Bitco customers soon. Unfortunately it is a 2-3 week lead time, but nothing I can do about that so will just have to be patient.

P.S. Thanks to Pitbull for pointing me in these guys direction. Reviews and comments seem positive in general

I'm exceptionally happy with them. Hope you get sorted :)

So the tech guys just finished their site survey at my place. There are a bunch of trees but he couldn't tell me much right now. Really hoping they can go ahead with the installation hopefully next week. Waiting for the results is worse than it was waiting for my Matric results!

So far I've had a great experience with these guys.

Hi StormHorse,

Apologies for the delay in responding. With regards to "What are the differences between your business and home accounts specifically and also what is your FUP regarding each one.":

Our business accounts are geared to business and allow you to take voice channels and link to an IP PBX, we also prioritise business traffic over these links to ensure great quality.
Our home package is home optimised and is limited to only Voice and Data services at this point.
Both the Home and Business FUP work the same.

Please know that we are dedicating as much time as we can to responding on this thread timeously.

OK now i'm am seriously Pissed off

i am currently downloading Saints row 4 from Steam which is 10GB during normal working hours and i am being throttled DUE to the NEW AMAZING FUP which is utter nonsense.

We were promised full streaming and downloads from xbox, ps4 and legit download services from 6am-6pm at the expense that All P2P and torrenting being throttled during working hours.
And this is not the CASE!

Garth this is completely and utterly unfair.
we are being punished for everything we download.

the FUP was better the way it was before this new change over.

At this point i am defiantly paying much much more for crap-loads less.

I look forward to hearing your response to why i am being throttled during normal working hours when in all your previous posts you say we will not.

Regards a very pissed off Customer

Hi ReDeeMer,
The FUP change just increases the time you can download for before you get throttled to half speed.
We made no mention of streaming and/or xbox/PS4 downloads being exempt from the FUP.
The way the service is set up allows you to stream for longer due to the time being extended, however all internet/data services run through our core router, so no matter what service you are using the data still runs through our core.
When the FUP limit is hit then the FUP becomes active on your line and no distinction is made to any service because all the cores measures is data packets, no what is inside the packets.

Hope that helps clarifies the FUP for you.

Regards
Jarryd

My brother in law had a line of sight test done yesterday. We are living on the same premises and would like to go with Bitco and get rid of crap Mweb.

The installation team said they have line of site but didn't install anything. They needed to get authorization first but why not install if they have line of site?!?!??!?!

There are many factors that can influence the quality which may stop our teams from installing even if LOS is achieved, some issues are: radio interference, too far from the high sight etc.
If they need authorisation it's likely that the link will be declined as it does not meet our minimum service criteria

Hi Riaandb & SauRoNZA - Thank you for asking about Cape Town. There are definite plans to expand to CT however, no finite date. As with our links and LOS tests, we will not install if there is no way to guarantee our service standards will be maintained for the end user.

Awesome Well I just handed in my Documents and Hoping to be a Customer Soon..

That is if the LOS and other Parameters are met.

I am Sick and Tired of my 2mb Telkom Line..

Thanks again for the Excellent Service so Far.
