BitCo Consumer Review

Not sure if this it Bitco related, but wanted to ask here first.

Very often, when playing Gran Turismo 6 and connecting to an online game I will get an error stating entry failed, and then afterwards another saying connection to lobby server was lost.

My PS3 is connected via WiFi using DHCP. I have also tried cable and get the same.

I can't say if anything has changed as I really only started playing online in the last week or so.

Any suggestions?

Not related to the PSnetwork hack last week?

I'm not sure. Because I've only started playing online very recently. Well today it only happened twice and then I had about 6 races straight with no issues.

No if it was today I doubt it. I had the same issue last week but it was because of the hack. PS network was down and could not join at all for about 3 days. Maybe just double check the PS network, they might be busy plugging holes.

Do you have your PS setup in a DMZ or is it just connected as normal? That is the only other thing I want to try. Although when running the network test NAT shows as Type 2 which shouldn't cause any issues. I know Type 3 will give problems.

Normal connection. Just connected it to the Wifi and off I was.

Same here. I have been messing with the router settings to get the full 300Mbps connection speed, but that just made my Note3 drop the connection constantly. Anyways... will play around a bit more. Not too much of an issue for me. I'm pretty crap playing online, but I do it anyway...

I have the same problem with Destiny. I'm not sure it's a PSN problem because it did this before the DDOS attack.

Often says 'Contacting Destiny Servers' I can't host games and I get kicked after a while if I join others.

I think it's another issue coz it's back to normal after 6.

Mmm... I haven't made a note of the times. I will try out a few games later tonight and then tomorrow again and see if there is a difference.

Started it up last night and no issues.

Tried again this morning and it said contacting Destiny servers.

Think it could be the throttling.

Hi, downloaded a large Steam game last night. It hadn't completed yet this morning but I was throttled so I shutdown for a couple of hours while I went out shopping.
When I returned I started up the download again but I'm still only achieving 50% of my speed.

Do I need to request a reset or should it be happening automatically?

It should happen automatically after 1 hour. Are you sure nothing else has been using the connection?

no one else was home and nothing was switched on - so no nothing else was connecting..

I'll try again this evening.

Thanks

Still not getting over 238kb/s after switching power off to router for 1 1/2 hours..

I'll log a ticket

I have also been having the same issue, especially with destiny. Anytime before 6pm I can forget about playing destiny as I will get kicked back to load screen or orbit all the time. I have an open support ticket about this for a few weeks now. So far nothing has happened because support is assuming that because I don;t have a public ip yet I can't implement the necessary port forwarding as suggested by all PS4 and destiny forums.

Each and every instance that I have had issue with Destiny, I have switched to my 3g connection and not had any problems so therefore I think that I can say with some degree of certainty that this is a BitCo issue.

Add to that, right now I have been disconnected 5 times over the past 2 days for periods ranging from 2 to 5 minutes and now also experiencing bad lag in World of Warcraft (as I can't play destiny) for longer and longer periods of time.

Add to that the lack of support (yes I know Mike, you said it is coming in 2015) for home users outside of working times and I am seriously getting frustrated with something that looked really good on paper and sounded really good with all the crap that the sales person told me that is actually not true.

So, right now, really frustrated and disappointed.

Have the exact same problem with Destiny, very frustrating.

Well, Telkom just informed me that I am unable to have an ADSL line installed at this point and it might take months for their current "infrastructure project" to finish and only thereafter can they install a line for me. Needless to say, I cancelled that and now looking at BitCo.

I've been reading through this thread and I'm getting such mixed responses and feedback. I'm eyeing the 10Mb offering, is it a good alternative to ADSL?

Closest you'll get to ADSL but with much better client care :)
