My internet dropped at 09h00 this morning... Does anyone else have connectivity issues on Helderkruin tower?
Back to normal now at 18H30. :) :) :)

Our technical team noted the fault at around 10am yesterday and services had been restored around 5PM

Equipment on the high site needed to be replaced

Sorry for the inconvenience caused, All services are fully operational.

Hi All,

As of 1 March 2015 we will no longer be offering the 2Mbps Home Broadband package

For those of you that have the 2Mbps service installed nothing will change and you can continue like normal

All new applications will be only for the 5Mbps and 10Mbps options

We are in the process of planning some new products and will post an update once we have the final information

Very glad to hear you are connected!
Sorry about the delay with handover, our infrastructure team is very process driven and unless they are completely satisfied with a link they wont hand over.....SOAK.....SOAK....&...SOAK some more

Typically soak is around 48 hours but can take up-to 7 days as each time an adjustment is make the process starts again.

I can see on your link 2 adjustments had been made prior to hand over but now its 100% perfect so enjoy!

I understand the practical reasons behind the soaking period, I'm all for it, however as I mentioned to Hazel you have to get the customer involved in the soaking period as there could be a difference in the network requirements between customer 1 and customer 2.


Customer 1 - 1x Laptop and 1x Smart Phone

Customer 2 - 3 x Xbox's, 3x Smart TVS, 5x Smart Phone's, 2x Tablets, DSTV Explora,Media Centre(Netflix,VIDI,Hulu etc), Blu-ray Player.

Bitco should let the customer use the connection during the soaking period in order to optimize it according to the requirements of the customers utilization and also allowing Bitco to optimize from there side.

Just a suggestion!

Router and network access all sorted, the link is working perfectly....................TBC
 
Bitco Bitco Bitco.... I have line of sight to your high-site but you could not get any signal... I offered to pay for the configuration to point to my property that's just a bit higher than your high-site and I even offered to help pay for extra equipment if needed, yet you don't even phone me back with an answer or anything... that really is bad service.:confused:

Accounts Department

I have been over billed the last few months for the 10 Mbps home internet which is supposed to be R1499 a month i'm being debited R1955 upon asking the Bitco accounts department why, I just get ignored.

Does anyone actually work in the accounts department?

Sorry for the late reply as i seem to have missed the original post.

If our team could not get proper signal to the high site this would be a result of various technical parameters & unfortunately your link installation would have been declined.

As much as we would like to help and build a repeater site we have already completed our budget and network growth plan for 2015 and cannot add more high sites to the network at this stage.

Although you are keen to pay, i am sure once we show you high site costings you will change your mind :cry:

We are really sorry we couldn't be of assistance at this stage and hope to contact you soon if we add capacity in your area

Hi Mike, is the new tower updated on your "check your coverage app"? I am in Parkdene and believe it should cover me.

I had installers out at my premises the 2nd week in Jan but apparently I had a tree in the way LOS to Benoni, only problem is the tree in the picture is in the direction of Kempton Park and not close to Benoni. Complained, sent emails but was flat out ignored! Maybe this time I can get some better service and maybe even LOS?

Hi Sgsteyn,

This new high site hasn't been added to our coverage map yet but will be added during the course of today along with the 3 others we have activated this month.

Check again tomorrow and you welcome to re-apply for services as we will still have all your photos and signal tests on record so technical team will be able to confirm if you can get LOS without doing a survey again

We are also going to pro-actively start contacting customers that have been declined in area's where we now have new coverage available but this may take some time as we have many surveys to go through

No harm in trying :)
