BitCo Consumer Review

Link handed over but cant use it...says no internet connectivity...:(Waiting for tech to hopefully come out tomorrow to re-program the switch or router. Another day without the internet so so sad:(

So you connecting to the router fine and then it says: No connection?

Ask Mike to send you the connection schematic. I think I might still have it somewhere. Then check if the wires are connected to the router and switch correctly. Mine had that issue. I'll try find it and PM you if I do.

Ask for your IP and DNS details. Set the static IP and connect your PC to port 1 of the Cisco switch. To rule out a misconfigured router.

My router delivery was delayed by 2 days. I managed to use my link in this time by doing the above.

Thanks man

At work currently. Will check it out tonight and post feedback.

Are the login details for the routers all different?

Ill try connect the pc direct to the switch and see if that works in the meantime.

When did you guys place your orders?

I placed mine on the 19th of March and I'm still waiting to be contacted for an installation date :(

On 4th March for me. Then a couple of days' worth of getting paperwork sorted out,so more or less the 6 weeks lead-in time they predicted.

Mine was placed on the 11th of March :) So they're sticking to lead time, I expect the line to be soaked the monday after installation ... the 13th April, which is pretty much 2 days before the lead time will be over.

Mike, Garth, what is going on?

I have a open support ticket which was logged on the 30th of March for packet loss and stupidly high latency.

I have escalated to Dale and still I've had no feedback to date on the actual resolution.

It's been 10 days since I've practically had no service, yet when I receive my invoice for my connection I'm expected to pay without any questions asked.

I'm rather irate at this point in time as I'm paying for a 10mb service, that performs like this :

This is with 0 traffic on the link and is taken on a "good" day. This weekend I had upwards of 50% packet loss which makes my link practically unusable.

As a paying customer I'm not getting service, I've had a 10 day outage and this is nowhere NEAR the 99% up time quoted.

I have also sent both of you a PM and emailed [email protected] and [email protected] quoting this post.

Hi Senshi,

Thanks for the post & PM i will investigate and revert back to you

Mike

So tech is coming out tomorrow morning to hopefully get me up and running. Really hope this gets sorted and i can get online.

Will post feedback on the link and experience dealing with bitco from start to finish.

Hi guys. Anyone here playing League of legends? When doing a ping test of 250 packets, I get 0 to 2 packets lost, which is good. But when playing LOL I get really bad lag spikes every minute or so.... Don't think it should be like this?

I also play league of legends quite often, and I also get hectic spikes quite often. I've reported it before, but no one seemed to fix the situation. So I often die during team fights etc due everything lagging out.

So many issues of packet loss raising its head lately, which comes at no surprise really, seeing as Bitco's client base is growing at a rapid rate. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bitco (and any sort of wireless technology) should not be advertised for gaming, unless you're one of the lucky few with 0 interference, packet loss is inevitable with wireless technology, and there's absolutely nothing Bitco can do to fix this... Now don't get me wrong, I not saying my connection is bad or slow, but do note I no longer use it for online gaming

I used to be a gamer, until I subscribed with bitco

Posts like these make me nervous :X I really hope I'm one of the few with proper 0 interference ... This is pretty much the last option as broadband for me as my complex has no telkom infrastructure ....
