BitCo Consumer Review

It's a long story lol

Basically, they came to decommission their kit but there was big miscommunication between the guys in the office and the guys that came to remove the kit

O ok :o

So I suppose they could not remove the bracket and now you need to replace it?

Damn, that's a pretty penny though for a bracket

Not entirely but ya, i don't want to start a Bitco fight here lol

Just wanted to get the guys input on the Bracket that Bitco wants to charge R1650 for

Thats more expensive that the actual Ubiquiti Rocket M5 lol

I wish I could say the same, I been having an issue on my link for almost a month now where I'm throttled to 120kbits upload speed and bitco is just not fixing the problem, this despite going back and forth on a ticket for a month.

I think I have your extra upload, mine constantly chugs along at almost 3Mbps :wtf:

Comes in very handy when I am uploading the weekends GoPro footage :D

When will Bitco have some kind of status portal for us to see if any issues are being experienced on your core? My service quality is up and down lately with more emphasis on the down part...

I have also been noticing that the throttling kicks in like a few minutes after the start of a DL... what should be expected because it starting to feel like I am paying 850ZAR for a 2mb link and not a 5?

Latency has been around 100-180ms today measured to local servers?

And how long will a client pay the steep fee of the base connection? Surely it is fair to assume that after X amount of months you have taken enough $ for the on premises equipment? I do not quite fully understand what I am paying for and how long payment will have to continue?

@ current service quality vs price I am not entirely all giggles and drool about Bitco. Newer options since start 2014 when I had you installed may very soon become legitimate options.

99% my @55....

Hi

I'm Currently Living In Pretoria And Would Like To Install Uncapped WiFi To Play GTA V On PS4 Mostly, I Have Looked At Amobia's 1Mbps Offer At R299 And I Just Wanted To Get Some Views If This Is A Good Idea Or If There Are Better Options Around The Same Price

Hi

If that price is all and all AND you can verify the latency to at least be no more than say 30ms to (for argument sake) a few local, close to peering servers I would say naah - then the adequate 1mbs becomes a bit of an oldschool wireless provider class where they have older generations wifi kit coupled with a more lengthy/slower direct link to the newer peer centers and as a gamer.... Dont say you want to get public link to play xyz game. Your intention is gaming so if you dont want to mess around:

Try these addresses from someone you know who are using them (your referenced provider) at home or whatever.

Ping 197.80.200.231
(referenced my FAV BF4 server where you are not allowed to make any loud noises etc - Still slightly Brokenfield :D

And look for this - (The bit I marked in yellow is latency)
...In the evenings when we play its around 10ms average:

still.PNG

And except for days similar to previous weekend - eventually gave up trying. I would maybe just check what type of service these guys give.

And bitco - I still praise your service and ALWAYS recommend you to multiple end clients (where they signed up) but lately it has not been the stellar ALWAYS on connection it use to be. P2p USE to work fine where we played ball by choking streams but lately its fully dead. Too many times I sit down and there is a yellow ! in a yield sign at my LAN icon and...

Not enough transparency on how the whole (Lets sat 450ZAR/m "Base connection" and I am a client for 4 years... that would add up to R27 000 towards about R7k's worth of hardware in my estimate apologies if it is not accurate) works. And then the network connection at another 400ZAR...? I cannot find any document or page with an explanation RE the rationale of the agreement.

Thanks for feedback and on previous posts comments?

Cheers

Eish I'm having problems with Steam again.

Interestingly every time this happens it's mostly the same sites that don't work. For instance http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ doesn't work either.

It's becoming a regular occurrence now though which is sucky. I hope BitCo can sort it out.

Also have a few sites tonight which won't load. Most annoying of all the HP Driver download site; just got my new laptop today and trying to make it do laptop things :D

Haha funnily enough I also have a new laptop. Want to try out some games on it but alas Steam is timing out.

It's getting worse. Now many sites won't load for me. http://evetech.co.za/ isn't loading. Some threads at MyGaming that contains signatures from other sites take forever to load. I'm going to go watch tv. Hopefully it will be fine again tomorrow.

Should the lack of response be deemed the new attitude and spirit of Bitco? Ties in nicely with the sudden "sold out" status. Damn what a pity...

I have decided to cancel. I downgraded after a 10 meg upgrade made no real difference. I seem to be only getting 2 meg on weekends. And I am paying for 5 meg.

Sent an email yesterday and haven't heard a single thing. Gonna look into legal action as they are in breach of contract as far as I am concerned. I wonder if I can put a stop order through...

Tell you what... if someone is wanting to take this contract over, please pm me. All you will have to pay is the re-installation cost. Seeing as this service is "sold out" and all :P

My wife reports that yesterday at around this time the internet died and today again. Anyone having any issues?
